New Leak of Final TPP Text Confirms Attack on Freedom of Expression, Public Health

Offering a first glimpse of the secret 12-nation "trade" deal in its final form—and fodder for its growing ranks of opponents—WikiLeaks on Friday published the final negotiated text for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP)'s Intellectual Property Rights chapter, confirming that the pro-corporate pact would harm freedom of expression by bolstering monopolies while and injure public health by blocking patient access to lifesaving medicines.

Moreover, it codifies a crackdown on freedom of speech with rules allowing widespread internet censorship.

The censorship issue has been shared as of late. Now the gist of it is released.

Also,

"If the TPP is ratified, people in Pacific Rim countries would have to live by the rules in this leaked text," said Peter Maybarduk, director of Public Citizen's Global Access to Medicines program. Put simply, he added:

"The TPP would cost lives."

Disgusting to say the least. Many of those countries already signed off on the TPP.

Anyone unfamiliar but finding these TPP threads, implore one to look into it. Time is short.

That is talking about ILLEGAL p2p file sharing, and other 'intellectual' property.

'Free' Speech doesn't protect that.

That is ALL it has to do with.

Same thing here.

Free speech doesn't cover your 'right' to down load Avatar or what ever else happens to be in at the moment.

Actually the TPP is a boon to the RIAA, and the MPAA.

It gives them 'open borders'.

Don't worry there people you can still hate on them evil corporations all day long.

Nothing is gonna happen.

You think the TPP is mainly covering speech? Wrong wrong wrong.

What do you think of earth's natural resources and replenishment?

Who cares what you think. The TPP will allow corporations to bankrupt nations with lawsuits.

Yea that's how it starts. First avatar than ats and so on. Until nothing is left.

There is a saying for this kind of thing, its called erosion of freedoms.

Just saying.

I don't get why people are on the free speech issue of the TPP. That's FAR, SO GOD DAMN FAR IT MAKES SENSE!

When a corporation is allowed to sue a government for allocated losses by permit denial, well they can make up any f'ing price they like, and win.

TPP is the 1st step to corporatocracy.

Luckily the US Supreme Court ruling in the head money case in 1884 address this very issue.

* - No treaty / agreements with other nations can grant additional authority beyond what the Constitution spells out.
* - Treaties the US signs are subordinate to the US Constitution.
* - Treaties become a part of the Federal body of law allowing -
A - The ability for Congress to make changes to the treaties in relation to US Laws / Constitution.
B - The ability for US citizens to challenge treaties that affected them in a negative manner.
C - The ability of US courts to hear cases brought by part B above.

Ironically enough the Federal government has to agree to be sued before it can proceed. It goes back to the pesky Doctrine of Sovereign Immunity.

This is the exact thing the TPP seeks to eliminate.

If it comes into full effect the TPP can have websites like this made obsolete as you will no longer be able to add links or news stories from other websites as it will violate the new Draconian copyright laws.

And out of the(I think) 29 new trade agreements 24 of them have something about Internet restriction on them so it's basically a Globalist power grab.
How insidious can the TPP if the general public are not allowed to see it and those congressmen that do are not allowed to speak about it.

Leaked docs reveal TPP will force ISPs to hand over copyright infringers’ identities

The relevant section here is Article I7, which ZDNet reports “mandates that each party to the TPP must establish a judicial or administrative procedure through which rights holders can obtain the identity of a copyright infringer from an ISP in a timely and efficient manner” so they can protect themselves against further infringement.

That already occurs here in the states so I dont see it having a major impact here.

Don't give a flying damn one way or another.
I'll continue to do exactly what I'm doing as I have had for decades.
One learns how to work the system and remain untouched.
The system is run, maintained, and enforced by uneducated idiots.
Relatively easy to avoid them if you are willing to sacrifice a small number of convenience.

Sources? So many have been given warnings if for first and second time, etc. in violation instead of their info being directly sent over to the copy-write holders.
