"Attorneys at Arnold and Porter and the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence brought the lawsuit for us, pro bono."

They should have to pay.

Why?? because they took the case for all the free publicity they would get backing there anti gun cause even though they knew they would lose the case and the families would get a big bill for losing.

Maybe they should try to get crowdfunding to pay it.

Why don't they sue their lawyer who should have told them that it was useless to file the lawsuit in the first place. It's the bloodsucking leeches like their lawyer that is a problem with the legal system.

They could probably file a legal malpractice lawsuit to recoup their money if they can find expert legal witnesses that testify they would have exercised a higher standard of care in handling their case.

Likewise, they didn't sue the dealer because the parents blamed them for Holmes' actions. They sued because the dealer should have realized their practices selling ammo would lead to someone doing what he did....and apparently there is a law that exempts them from having to use reasonable care, Hence the dismissal.

So they are now left with a possible legal malpractice case.

I won't call the parents dumb if they trusted poor legal advice, and I agree, lawyers are blood-sucking leeches and sully the legal system.

a reply to: Milah>>> Sounds like the family should sue their lawyer for his taking the lawsuit against the ammo company. Then if that case gets thrown out and they owe their original lawyers legal defense bills, then they should hire another attorney and sue that attorney for bringing that lawsuit against the original attorney. Lawyers get all of our money, win or lose. We get next to nothing even if we win.
