Sorry man I thought it was common knowledge after my spiderman thread lol.
Support worker working with people with learning disabilities and challenging behavior. Thats my Job title.
Yes lock him in to protect other service users and us.
We are not trained to deal with people with weapons the police must be called. I cup maybe I would deal with a fire extinguisher wielded by an autistic dude who has lifted me up (13.5stone) with one hand before....

Sorry..... I did not know.

A very admirable job!

I can understand that working with mentally disabled people can be very dangerous.

Please be careful and come home safe everyday.

I applaud your efforts in this line of work.

Get well soon.

That is a hard but rewarding line of work.
I was a RPI (Residential Program Instructor) for a group home for several years.

I've been kicked, punched, slapped, spit on,pushed, pulled and had a mirror and several chairs thrown at me through my years working in that field. Eventually I got caretaker burn out and quit,
but it was one of the most rewarding jobs I ever had.

I raise my coffee cup to you BoyMonkey!

I get statutory sick pay which is 88 quid a week.

What the hell is a quid?!?

To be honest I'm glad you took it on the ribs and not, say, your dome.

I know the financial aspect sucks man, but get healed up properly. You do good work my friend.

I've always pictured a quid to be like an armless squid...

What a way to get paid....

Right?!?

Here's a tentacle. You don't get the whole thing. That's a squid. But you can have this part, it's called a quid.

It's just an informal term for £1 GBP, not so different to your bucks.
I would never think someone from the US saying "I get 88 bucks a week" would be referring to 88 male antelopes.

Sounds like you work with people with special needs? Good on you for doing that
Not sure I would have the patience.

Hahaha, rural US is a huge and secretive place I guess!
That would be an amazing deal though, just checked www.brokenarrowranch.com... and antelope loin is selling at $34/lb - at that price I'd take 88 bucks per week for Statutory Sick Pay any day over 88 quid!

There was a commercial here a while back where a guy finds a lamp. Genie pops out. Guy says "I want a million bucks." Genie snaps his fingers and a whole mess of deer appear in the guy's yard. He looked sad.

All I could think was "dude I'd take that in a heartbeat!"
