Yes, the hip bone was quite similar. But that is a bit like saying that if an animal has fins then it's a fish - which of course is not true, dolphins have fins yet they are mammals.

If the T-Rex was pink it would redefine the color.
It also wouldn't be less scary I 'm glad the "new dinosaurs" didn't inherit the teeth.

Don't forget that some of the colour of modern birds comes not from pigmentation but from iridescence or scattering of light by the microscopic structure of their feathers.

So, those feathered dinosaurs could have been a lot more colourful than suggested by fossilised pigmentation.
