Female U.S. health regulators should all be forced to take it before they unleash this atrocity on the public. Where are the checks and balances in this decision? The media pinned "Female Viagra" on this, and many would take that as a similar formula. But.. having some of the same chemical characteristics of "PROZAC ?" Have they blown some neurons?

You forgot to mention that it is also a side effect of certain medications to manage chemical imbalances in the brain. Through no fault of their own, or their SO, it drops the libido to near zero. How is that the SO's problem? An SO could be the most attentive and loving partner, yet, this side effect has more to do with her conditon that that.

You are right, I didn't mention that....But my OP wasn't really geared towards those women and marriages that are affected by medical or mental illnesses, medications and their SE's. It was more towards the run of the mill types of unfulfilled and unsatisfied individuals who will jump at the chance to take a dangerous drug in order to try and ignite that spark...Sadly, it might initially work, but it isn't THE answer.

This is legal but Cannabis (a proven natual libido enhancer, especially for women) is STILL a schedule I drug?

WTF...

Does this surprise me at all? No. Does the FDA practically approve any pharm. drug? Yes. Soon there will be a drug for women to like anal sex more.

I legit almost spit my gum across the room and woke up the hubby from loling at this.

No, the love for AS pill, no....that will never happen.

If you are premenopausal and need head pills to get you in the mood? There is a LOT more going on with you than this can fix...IMHO, most women who have lost their desire have lost it because their SO is a total douche...That's usually the #1 reason. The second reason is because they are EXHAUSTED from working full time, cooking, cleaning, raising the kids, etc. While their douchey SO's kick back, drink beers and watch TV.

If you would go get me a beer I would happily debate you on this...

I get my hubby whatever he wants, whenever he wants it...Because he does the same for me.

Happy Wife = Happy Life. He gets it and I'm very lucky because he's always been like that. Helpful, works hard, is neat, puts the seat down, does things around the house like dishes, etc.

or the side effect of if you drink on it it basically can make you pass out,so a pharmaceutic self administered potential roofie . good that if they want it they can but until they work out the side effects they should not be marketing this .

Some women spend their entire lives like this. Unhappy, unfulfilled and unsatisfied and that, to me, is SO SAD. Others? They lose 150-200# of douchery and meet someone else which normally takes care of their "mood" or urge problem. Some even stay married but find their satisfaction outside of the marriage...

*cough*

How long until we start having people blame this drug for causing women to go crazy and get violent?

It's similar to an SSRI, and those are popular scapegoats for mass shootings.

Wait, now we need a drug to use as an excuse for women to go crazy and get violent?
Should have met my last blonde girlfriend.

Bada bing!

Anything that messes with the brain like this is a bad idea. Prozac showed us that and all the other mind numbing crap they say is safe.

Send it to an ex...

I should. It was the reason we broke up. She has a nanny raising the kids. But...oh, the evil thoughts. Ice queen. My 43 year old girlfriend has a thousand times more passion.

Speaking of which does anyone know a reputable place to get Canadian Viagra? Pm me.

Bitter much?

There are natural reasons why women lose interest in sex after child birth that have nothing to do with the husband.
Just like there are men that cannot stand the sight or sound of their wives constant demanding and selfish attitudes.

Now, I am not being all anti-man. I am very happily married and I do not forsee me ever having to take the pink pill, lol. I know it is a two way street. But fella's, listen...If you only knew what a little flirting and kindness, a compliment (an honest one) about her appearance, or heck even doing the dishes or vaccuming does for your lady (and you); you'd be pinching her hind end, telling her she's beautiful AND have a chore chart with YOUR name up top!

anti-man is precisely what your being.
I make our bed every morning.. do our dishes more then she does.. i cook, clean.. come home..
i know all my friends are the same.. no one complains because people naturally want to do good.

its people like you, that drive men to cheat and be miserable because you lump everything at their feet.

Oh my...a pharmaceutical response, involving alterning BRAIN CHEMISTRY (over a period of months) to alleviate a physiological problem that is culturally magnified by an EARLIER pharmaceutical solution.

As we age, hormones decrease. For women it decreases NATURALLY via menopause. Men can "suffer" with low testosterone (Low T). This has been the NATURAL decrease (for most). Sex drive then decreases. And the here comes the money maker Viagara (and Celais). Yippee! To fulfill a media mandate (this IS what YOUR sex life MUST BE this number of times per week or you are ABNORMAL) men began taking their blue pills (altering their naturally reducing sex drive) and wanting relations w/their partners whose own hormones are decreasing...what to do?

Drug more people! Take more meds to solve a fixation created by the very advertising that was created to promote meds that aren't needed. Ever read the side effects of ED drugs? I'd like to see the stats on how many ER visits occur from the use of ED meds by older men who really AREN'T "healthy enough for sexual activity."

One would probably be better off taking a glass of wine, or two...hell, even MDMA would be a better go at trying to get in the mood safely. SSRI's??? Really??? I agree with OP in that you would have to be quite stupid to take such a pill.

Here's hoping that women actually are smarter then men in this case.

I do feel bad for those who have lowered sexual drives for whatever reason. Sex is probably one on the more beautiful experiences of life.

well, they always said that we were mentally deficient, why would this be any different....
men lose their sexual urge, well it's just a blood flow problem, women loses it and they need to chemically reprogram how her brain functions!
wouldn't be surprised if it was just prozac with a few additives with a different name really....

I couldn't have said it any better! This was clearly a rant and I agree, (some) women use sex as a manipulation tool.

I don't know, really. It's a stereotype, but if the sex is good, she most likely wants it just as much as the man. Withholding it would be punishing herself just as much as the husband.

ETA: if it were, as suggested, more of a form of manipulation rather than her really not wanting it, because then its a different story and the theory of her using it as a way to get what she wants is obsolete then, too.

And on topic, I'm not too fond of this. How many people will start pressuring their SOs into taking this harmful drug? ''Do it for our relationship. Do you even care about me?'' etc, after which she almost has to at least try it, because otherwise she 'doesn't care' or whatever bait is used but I can see how this pretty quickly can mean that a person is coerced to take medications that she normally wouldn't want to take, meaning she also loses some agency over her body. I can see how it'll develop into her implicitly needing an 'excuse' or reason to *not* take the drug as opposed to needing a reason to *do* take the drug or the guy wanting his SO to take it. Now, compare that with its harmful side effects, the fact that it's still very new, and possibly low beneficial results I have my concerns.

Besides, if I'm not mistaken this can be some pretty strong stuff. I mean, this isn't just some herbal homeopathic drop solution. This stuff alters people's minds. I get that a dead bedroom is problematic for both parties involved but perhaps it's better to reserve these substances for people who truly NEED them. This stuff isn't a joke. Compare the 2: sexual issues, versus possibly (very) harmful drug. It's not a pretty equation.

On the other hand, I do get that people want to fix sexual problems in their relationship. Sex and intimacy as well as affection simply are very important for most couples. I just doubt that this is the way to go about it.

"It is similar to a class of drugs known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRI's, that include antidepressants such as Prozac. "

Haha, so basically its XTC with a bit more kick. They should include each pill pack with some glow sticks and sweetened pacifiers.

If this is like Prozac is it safe to assume it's full of fluoride then?

Watermelon is probably better for a woman's libido than this #.... Who is seriously going to take this drug?
