Top 5 Superpowers

Who in your opinion are the worlds top 5-10 superpowers? Keep in mind that a superpower is a state powerful enough to influence events throughout the world. I would rank the top 10 in the following order:

1. United States
2. Russia
3. China
4. Great Britain
5. Germany
6. France
7. India
8. Pakistan
9. Ukraine
10. Brazil

China is the world's economic and military powerhouse, but China hasn't even entered the fray yet.

I believe Japan has not lost its influence as much as you might consider by "her" omission from your list.

More than anything though, national state boundaries are becoming less and less relevant to this kind of analysis. Regions and trading blocs are more important than states, and overspending on military will have had its day within a few decades when the current gangs of criminals are deposed by true leaders.

My top 5 superpowers would have to be:

1. Invincibility
2. Telekinesis
3. Flight
4. Mind Control
5. Super Strength

haven't a clue whether your mocking the topic or not, but by super powers the member means countries...not super hero powers

The top superpower is the ability to eat planets. Galactus does it one way. Corrupt governments do it another way.
