Weddings at Funeral Homes the Next Big Thing?

Who'd a thunk it? Funeral homes hosting weddings? They say that it's a move to increase revenue since people don't want to pay for premium services that funeral homes offer. I say bull$!@

INDIANAPOLIS — Danessa Molinder entered the courtyard wearing a white dress and matching veil. Her groom waited at the other end, in front of decorative doors and lattice work that blocked the view of a nearby cemetery with 73,000 graves.

Molinder’s June wedding was one of more than 50 that will be hosted this year at a $10 million events center run by the Washington Park East Cemetery Association in Indianapolis. The somewhat ironically named Community Life Center sits on cemetery land near a funeral home and also has hosted a prom, community banquets and even breakfasts with Santa.

So where is this concept headed? New horizons for funeral homes or a dead end? Pun intended. What says ATS?

Well, they are both kinda the same thing.
Ones a funeral and the other is a funeral for your former self.

Who cares about the wedding venue as long as the bride and groom are happy?
Have the ceremony in a parking lot if that works for you, I know many people that never had a ceremony at all.
Go to the courthouse, maybe have a party at home, done.

Or bride and bride, groom and groom or whatever combo you have going.

What does it matter? If the wedding were held in a cemetary, it might be different, but a building is a building.

Makes sense, really.....Funneral Homes are often quite beautiful.

As long as they space the Weddings from the funerals out a bit....Wouldn't want to show up early to a Wedding and find myself at a wake for someone's Grandma!
