It just crossed my mind , How do they induce Cancer in lab rats ?

What chemical / method is used to do this ?

Google didn't really yield much, although i didn't put to much effort into it .

i did come across an answer on yahoo ,but i can't validate it .

The first answer is wrong. They inject viruses which carry the ability to delete a tumor suppressor gene, or viruses like Epstein-Barr that can mutate Lymph node cells. For example, in our eyes, the cells possess a gene callied RB1: Retinoblastoma Protein. this protein carries instructions for deleting a cell that has a mutation in the Retina part of the eye. When this gene is deleted or mutated, the person can develop Retinoblastoma much easier.

They commonly use HPV viruses, along with some Adenoviruses, which are double stranded DNA viruses.

For Leukemia, they use Retro viruses, single stranded RNA viruses.

So , Time to put on the tinfoil cap for a sec , without going into detail ( lack of knowledge here ) Could it be a possibility that certain vaccines could lead to cancer in humans ?

I felt more comfortable posting this on ATS rather then spending hours researching it ,that way i can take every pro , con, neutral opinion and facts to form my own conclusion.

Hey thanks! folks

Btw not sure if i am in the right forum ....meh ..

If we're talking carcinogens, they inject mega doses of known or unknown (under suspicion) carcinogens in order to determine if something is carcinogenic or experiment with treatments. They use mega doses because studies are usually limited by time and or funding and they want a quick result. Thats why they use mega doses.

quick search

ETA: Heres one study… mmmm….

In experiments, rodents that inhaled fumes of 1-bromopropane — a colorless to light yellow liquid solvent — developed tumors in several organs, including their skin, lungs and large intestine

Not sure but I wonder why we torture animals.

I guess "god" told a scientist to experiment on an animal.

Whatever.

They're rats.

They live and heal at such a fantastically rapid rate that cancer is almost inevitable. Just about anything will cause cancer in lab rats. At it wouldn't take much to create a strain that is overwhelmingly cancer prone. They just burn their little candles so fast that the kinds of cellular errors that lead to tumors are almost inevitable.

Out of our pet rats, pretty much all of them died of cancer. None died of actual old age.

If we didn't test things on animals, we'd have to test them on ourselves first.

True but who are you to decide?

How would you feel if you were "selected"?

Now you're anthropomorphizing.

Do you or do you not want your medications tested before they get put into your body? Do you sign yourself up for medical testing when the opportunity comes?

Selected for what?

They are naturally predisposed for it to happen. No one selected them to have it.

That's as insane as saying that someone born with the breast cancer gene was "selected" for it.

I am on a public computer so I must leave.

That means I am right and you are wrong.

Just the way it is.

Well played, sir. Well played.

The answer is that, since "cancer" is not a single entity with a single cause, they expose the experimental animals to various ecposure levels of whatever they are investigating and, since some cancers are genetic, they can produce rats with various genetic anomalies. There is no single snswer.

No. Science, not God, indicates that we must model our research on animals before we move on to human beings. This is how we learn via the scientific method. There is no God.

You do realise that you've started something here?
Mini chemtrail drones for individual targeting of dissenters.

I'll get my coat.

Yea, I fully expect an article to show up on facebook stating the tiny planes as fact.

Seriously...?!?!?
Thats what you think?!?

That rats were made to be tested on by humans....

I have a large number of things that would like to exit my brain,
enter my fingers and display on your screen...Right now...
But i think i can hold it in, for now....

Well, first you would have to dampen the immune system so the cancer takes hold. link.springer.com... Thank god it is easy to get, rats eat yogurt.

Next you would have to introduce a cancer causing virus. I suppose since chicken is a good source of the cancer causing viruses unless cooked for hours, it would be a good source. nutritionfacts.org... This doesn't address the issue of long cooking for chicken to kill viruses in this video though, bacteria die very quickly with heat, viruses are not really alive though so it takes a few hours or more of cooking to effectively kill them off. So make sure the chicken you feed the chicken is sliced thin and quickly cooked in a Wok.

Of course, if you feed the rat a chicken drumstick and it eats the cartilage, it will kill the cancer, so only boneless skinless chicken breast should be used. See, cartilage actually kills viruses, but bovine and shark cartilage are better.
