My view on Jewish and Muslim people not eating bacon is .... that these religions were or originated in very hot climates and pig meat and hot climates make for food poisoning as well as for shellfish. That my view anyway. I eat most meat but do not like eating hearts and brains or any offal for that matter. I do like a bit of bacon tho.

Well, that's what I always figured for the old Jewish food laws. They made a lot of sense for that time, and the conditions. Jewish people don't tend to be rude about someone eating pork, though. Muslims, well, I have a relative that said some Muslims got rude with him in a restaurant, of all places, for ordering more bacon and sausage, when the special was an "all you can eat" meat sort of deal. Unreal!

I don't eat organ meats myself. Don't care one way or the other about the health arguments from both sides; just don't care for the smell or taste. Bacon, I love, though I try to behave. It's yummy, but so high fat!
