I do find it very interesting how the human technological boom occurs in 1940s, prior to this, it was relatively snails pace. Interesting.

Good point... This has been subject to discussion before I think. Like there was a trigger of some sort by then?

Well, of course there was a trigger. It was WWII, but really just war in general. It's not that difficult to figure out. When you think about what war is, it seems only natural that it would bring about advances. As a species, we work best under pressure, and especially while trying to save ourselves.

Also, this didn't really stop after WWII. The Cold War started right up, which as far as wars go, had a lot of the perks without all the downsides. The was a 40-50 year span there were technologies were being pushed at a war pace.
