merlin/merlyn effect book?

There is this book I found info on stumbling along the web a long while back, but now I cannot for the life of me remember the exact name of it. It is something like the merlin/merlyn effect/principle/. It is still out of print I believe, it takes physics and applies them to prove aspects of the paranormal. It is supposed to be a really good book. If anyone knows which book I am talking about, please help me.
