I think Hedges advocates for pure socialism, something more like Sweden than the socialist/communist states we usually associate with it. At least that's what I'm hoping, I'm all for keeping the Constitution and form of government we already have minus corporate/banking influence.

I'm for capitalism but it must be tempered with some socialist elements (food stamps, social security, medicare) for those who cannot do for themselves.

If we just followed the constitution non of this crap could or would happen. We are not a democracy we are a republic. The more we try and be a democracy the more Oligarchies take control. This is why the founding fathers did not make this a democracy.


Democracy.....Socialism.......Oligarchies......One in the same.

I agree, who needs a book to see what is happening?

The problem is there are A LOT of people that are missing the signs - economic, political, social, etc. Many of us here at ATS affectionately call them sheeple. I will admit I'm doing my absolute best to wake people up, to talk to my friends and family that run the gamut - Republic, Democrat, Independent, etc.

Too many of them are stuck in the Left vs. Right paradigm that they aren't looking at the real signs (above). They are watching the talking points they are being fed AND that's why we are in the biggest trouble.

When it all goes to He'll in a handbasket , it won't matter that you're left leaning or right. Whether you work in an office, on a construction site, or fish for a living. It will hit us ALL. We will be united in tragedy.
