I have no problem believing that he was not injured during the videotaped arrest.

He was fatally injured during the van ride.

The only thing that second passenger can attest to is that he heard noise coming from Freddie Gray. Without being able to see, there is no way he can declare with 100% certainty what Freddie Gray was doing.

He can say all he wants that Freddie was banging his head. How does he know Freddie wasn't kicking?

I think they need to make the reports public....

Lets be honest here in all these cases where police have been accused of violence, and these riots have occurred, it would be the most transparent thing to release everything they know....

He can say all he wants that Freddie was banging his head. How does he know Freddie wasn't kicking?

Well, he can't be sure. What he can tell is if, when the van was moving with them both in it, the van made abrupt stops or erratic movements, or about the time Freddie went silent, or if he heard the cops beating him when the van was stopped at any time. If Freddie went silent in the middle of the drive and was making a lot of noise prior to that, then it would suggest he did it to himself. If he went silent after one of the stops and the other guy heard him getting beaten, then it would suggest the cops did it.

Indeed. Though, wasn't the second passenger picked up later in the drive? So that limits his knowledge of what happened to the time he was in the van.

I've seen the way police make arrests now. Almost every time, at least one officer firmly places his knee into the neck area while the other officers handcuff the individual. So it's not out of the realm of possibility that this time that knee did some damage that only got worse during an unrestrained ride in the paddy wagon. So what this second passenger could have been hearing may have been Freddie thrashing in pain as a result of something that happened prior to this second passenger entering the vehicle.

People act like only one side does the trial by media.

All it takes is a bs report of a prior surgery and a man that couldn't see gray and the other side now knows what happened.

suprise suprise. i mean, what do you think the cops would do if their superiors started throwing them under the bus? yeah, this is going to obscure the protests with opportunistic looters again. wonder how much violence will be unleashed on innocent people? they have already proven that they will target the protestors and not touch the looters.
