A carved stone found on the Yorkshie moors is thought to be 4,000 years old.
They found over 2,700 relic's.
After seeing this story on my local news I checked their web site and found the story.
4,000 year old carving

I wonder if it will be open to the pulic, considering it's near Fylingdales?

The main thing is that they think it could be a map, now that would be something.

i think more and more finds of intrest like yours will be coming to light in the uk as time goes on,people forget how much history britain has,the shear amount of races and civilisations that have occupied our island in its history is staggering enough to comprehend and i also think there is many places in the uk that have not even given up half their secrets yet?,certainly the highlands of scotland for 1?

Yeah. I guess smoking isn't as bad as we think. Bad for our health but good for discoveries.

Probably not, or at least not easily accessible. There is (sigh) something about ancient sites and artifacts that makes some peole want to ...modify them/write on them/carve over them.

Some of those designs are thought to be tribal boundary markers or land designations (showing maps of the region... there's actually some examples from the US paleoIndian rock art).
