Is there honestly Americans out there who believe we are honestly that pathetic of a country?

I don't want to start a country bashing post or anything of the like. While quite young ( 18 on Dec.29
), I have still had what I call the privilege of meeting many Americans. I have met many through online gaming, forums, online communties, I even befriended and hung around with several while on vacation in the Dominican Republic one year, I still keep in touch with them.

I guess what I'm getting at, is this a minority view or do many of you think this? I'm proud of my country and to be a Canadian, to me, that kind of hurt to watch.

That just go's to show the type of propaganda fox and cnn peddle to the world, all the comments made were baseless and shallow, i think in times like these America really needs to be carefull before they lose anymore friends in the world.

I agree, baseless and shallow. Typically we are the same people, often our views clash, but I believe, just as the video said, that saying things like that show a weak ego. You must really be compensating for something if you need to bash like that....

.... and another thing. What the hell is the stigma against dog sledding? Isn't always said that dogs are man's best friend? ... Yet... almost every Anti-Canadian rant/joke that I have seen, that is used as an insult. If I lived far enough north that it would be useful, I sure as hell would. Not only are dogs wonderful creatures, but for that terrain, I think it would be the most effiecient form of travel.

Also I would appreciate some feedback from American's on their views of Canada. If you really feel this way, why? What exactly makes you feel this way about us?

What kind of CRAP is this? Americans and Canadians are spitting distance apart geographically, and this is what they have to say about us? Man, we need to bail out of NAFTA, get our trade on with other folks. They don't want to play nice with us, let's not play at all.

I would think as soon as you saw "Fox News" you'd realize it was pure BS.
Fox has the habit of believing it is the voice of America. They constantly make claims, based on their own polls. What surprises me is how many foreigners actually believe it.

Bill O' Reilly, the grandmaster of "Enemies of America" boycott lists, is perhaps the loudest mouth in preaching contempt of France, Canada, ect. During a survey on O'Reilly, 87% said Canada is not a friend of the US. Thats 87% of O'Reily viewers. One needs omly to watch O'Reily to see what kind of audience you are dealing with.

Truth be told, most Americans dont really hate anyone, and are puzzled why our supposed friends to the north hate is.

I could go on and on. However, after reading alot of Canadian articles, seeing Canadian news broadcasts, and listening to individual Canadians spewing Anti American rhetoric every time you look around, I think I understand more and more why Americans are slowly beginning to grow weary and annoyed with Canada.

Do I hate Canadians? No, I find it a moronic waste of time to waste hatred of an entire population simply because their govornment are fools, or I find their culture reprehensible, or any of the other reasons 90% of the world likes to spend their energy on hating us.

Just thought i'd bring this thread I found back, since there seems to be an increase in Canada bashing lately. Now it's about the borders. No terrorists have been proven to have entered the States through the Canadian border. It is up to the American customs officer as to who he lets enter his country. Canada gets you on the way out. You know letting you in Canada. We are supposed to be Americas closest ally. Why all the hatred.

Frankly, I do not understand your point, as per the site your link directed me to; if you are asking if American’s see Canada as a country of pornographers (link led to a porno site), absolutely not. Everyone I have known respects Canada as a friend and a nation that largely minds its own business; except when we apply pressure for your nation to follow us into some internationally stupid war for the freedom of international corporations to do business.

Now as for America needing to be careful about loosing ‘friends’, most of the world can kiss my one legged shrapnel and bullet hole filled backside. With ‘friend’s’ such as France, Spain, Germany, Japan and other such stalwart examples of dependable allies, who needs enemies?

The problem with America is that we did not follow our Founding Father’s warning to NOT BECOME INVOLVED with ‘foreign entanglements’; a problem that our coming Revolution to return our Nation to its Constitutional boundaries will soon fix. The best thing Canadians can do in the coming tumult is NOT to join the UN troops that will be called in to attempt to maintain the status quo in America, so that we remain friends.

The link was overtaken sometime in the last 5 years I think. From the older posts it would appear it originally linked to an article, but I have no clue what was in it back then.

Like I said this is an old post. I did not post any link. My point is lately Canada seems to be getting bad press in your media. DHS wants the border tightened. Implying that we let terrorists into your country. Red Eye on Fox was calling us a rediculous country a couple weeks back. We fought your war in Afganistan while your Army took a detour to Iraq. We are still there and finally you people are tired of Iraq and now your coming back to Afghanistan to help us out and no doubt take all the credit. Have at it.

I think the link is to an Ann Coulter video on Fox dissing Canada. Nothing new about that from the Coultergeist.

I have never heard Fox call Canada a ‘ridicules country’, and since they started the Glen Beck Program, it is the only non-net news source I watch. As for the combat capabilities of the armed forces of Canada, I would rather have a CANSOFCOM squad behind me than a whole army of other so-called allies. They and the IDF troops are among the absolute best in the world. I know of no American armed forces veteran who has served alongside a Canadian soldier that has had anything but respect for them.

I am only sorry that your nation has been duped into joining on, in a supporting role, these illegal wars for the freedom of international corporations to do business; you’ve agreed to them out of pure friendship. I travel quiet a bit and do public speaking engagements, and I can say that the vast majority of Americans have nothing but respect for Canada – besides, who else would put up with us pouring over the border every time we elect an idiot?

Which brings us to the REAL reason there will be stepped up border enforcement between Canada and America, it is the same reason all the rich of America are buying gated and secure homes in Costa Rica and New Zealand; the powers that be know we will not go into the NWO without one hell of a fight. So batten down and enjoy the coming American Revolution part 2; we have nothing but love for Canada!

I love people from Canada.

There is no way I could begin to count the many people I've met from Canada.

I live in a coastal tourist area and they come here by the bus loads. They come all day everyday.

There is a neat restaurant that is very popular with the cruise buses. It has a large, long inviting front porch with rocking chairs and large checkerboards on the porch.

There is usually a 10 or 15 minute wait for a table so most everyone waits outside and rocks on the porch.

Being an extrovert I never meet a stranger. Altogether I've spent many hours talking with our Canadian visitors. I can honestly say I've never met a Canadian I didn't like.

The link did not work, but let me just apologize for any ignorant statement made by Ann Coulter as she is one woman who appears to really need a good ‘....’ to lighten up. She is just a Far Right Republican hack that needs to learn that true conservative views transcend ‘Republican and Democrat’ party affiliations.

Trust me when I say that most Americans really do not harbor anything but love and respect for Canada; we joke about you a lot, as you do us, but your our friends and neighbor.

I'm glad to hear that from you SGTChas. I agree with you that Americans that dislike Canada are in the minority. I feel most Canadians like Americans too. And what you said about the border was really interesting. I hadn't thought about that angle. I think the Canadian people would be ready to help our American Cousins if anything like the NWO was to go down. We got your back.

Are you kidding me? Canadians are a bunch of potty mouthed asshats that do nothing but corrupt our youth.

Just watch this video and see what Canada does to our youth.

This is very Not Safe for Work and shouldn't be viewed by anyone, those filthy potty mouthed Canadians are detestable.

We should nuke 'em

Yes.

Just because this is the only way of life that many have known, that does not mean that all of this is so great. Most people do not even realize that they are slaves in this country, and THAT is what I find pathetic.

If you had the chance to design an ideal and perfect society, would it look like the USA is today? The only time this continent was great was before the Europeans arrived here. After the pilgrims arrived here, it's been nothing but down hill ever since then.

People once lived free upon this Earth. Now, most everyone is a slave, and they are too blind and ignorant to even realize it because they don't have the brains and imagination to conceive of anything better.

I hope you’ll pay no attention to the fringe elements responding; let me say that I appreciate your covering our ‘6’ as it always helps to know you have back up. Just ignore the peanut galleries from the right and left – every country has that problem. I’ve fought and lived with many of Canada’s finest, and they do your country credit sir; you can tell volumes about the character of men when bullets start flying and Canadian’s have honor and courage. All you can ask of any man. God Bless.
