Actually I did numerous times.

Someone, Jamie1, even clarified what people didn't seem to understand.

Much better than I did as well.

Funnily enough that was my reasoning for calling the cartoonist a moron...

Considering who they may have offended could be tempted into a life of extremism, so what's the difference.

Me calling them morons is offensive & I have to take responsibility for it...
Him depicting Muhammad and riling up Extremists, no problem...

I don't get the double standard.

Before you say you wouldn't advocate my death for being offensive, so it's not the same...
I also do not advocate these peoples deaths, but there has to be a certain level of personal responsibility in the prt of the cartoonist imo...
Not fully responsible, but partly at least.

I don't get why this turned into a witch hunt for me in the other thread either, but I accept it.

As I said, you cannot serve two masters. You either stand with terrorism or you stand with the innocent victims of terrorists.

You cannot be both. You MUST make a very real and very conscious choice what side you are going to be on, because you cannot serve both sides.

The murdered victims are not at fault, is the first stop.

The second stop, no true God will ask you to kill innocent people for HIM, since HE can do that all by HIMSELF if HE so chose provided of course HE is a God and not a god without power.

Third stop, decide right from wrong, and stand with the right even unto death if need be.. in order to end this. What religion you follow is yours to choose.. but standing with right even unto death, is necessary regardless.

It took you about 15 posts before you clarified...

Actually the "morons" was intended for the "joker" & the terrorists...

I should have elaborated that clearly.

...and even then I struggle with what you said. When all we have are your words I think you need to be VERY clear about meaning, especially around such a sensitive subject.

As for the "personal responsibility" issue, I wholeheartedly disagree.

Thanks BM, I wasn't aware of that until you just informed me.

Earlier articles I read didn't establish that.

I apologise, wholeheartedly.

It wasn't until about 15 posts in that I was asked what it meant, to be fair.

& I did say I should have elaborated.

People can either hold it against me, or try to understand where I came from in terms of personal responsibility.

Like I understand if you disagree.

Iam sure he will.
Anyhow it is good to see many Muslim folk speaking out against the events of today.
I live in a Muslim street and get on with everyone, my neighbor cried today when we spoke of it saying "They are destroying my religion".
I just hope more do the same and weed out the fundies.

I know where you came from, I was once there in your shoes.. its confusing really because as you see this unfolding and draw it to logical consequence you see the danger they are placing YOU in.. you want to thwart that danger, and the westerners are more accepting of the position you are in than the terrorists.. because the terrorists want to kill you too if you don't stand with them.

I have been there.. I know the confusion the thoughts that go through your mind..

Yet... seeking to save your own life wont work either.. they kill you no matter what you say in the end if they don't think you are Muslim enough..

And if they keep going, you will be caught up in the middle of a storm and you know you don't want to be in it.

At this point, the only choice you have is to stand for whatever is right, even if it means your own life. You will loose it either way if this does not stop.

Nobody from these religions is killing over cartoon satire, to my knowledge anyway.

I fully understand you OB, & I'm happy for you in your decisions.

I've never been one to judge someone who makes a decision based on personal experience, because I've been there myself.

I also understand that they want me dead as well...

I smoke like a trooper every hour of the day...
I drink on special occasions, last time being New Years, & prior to that Halloween...
& I probably do more things they'd behead me for...

It won't change my opinion that if you provoke the extremists, you shouldn't expect a reaction...
I'm not saying it's justified at all... just that it is hardly unexpected.

Peace to you OB.

trying to ride the middle, wont save your life.

I fully expect to die for my choice, but at least its the right one.

This turned into an awesome thread Charlie. Respect to you and thank you. It means a lot these days.

And OpinionatedB, you continue to inspire me. And thank you for the time you took to u2u me. It meant more than you know. I to feel that one day I may be asked to deny my Faith, and I do not fear it. It will be an honor to proclaim His name as I am embraced BY Him.

You have to choose. Stand with those whose blood was spilled, or stand with the terrorists. There is no middle ground.. no riding some invisible line.

If you are going to take a stand, take a real one.

To extremists there is no middle ground.
In the real world there is always middle ground
And when to oposeing faction agree to meet in this middle ground its called being adult and comprimiseing
