"A total of 1,800 Paras would fight alongside the US 82 Airborne Division under overall American control.

The plan comes weeks after a British general was appointed deputy to a US commander in Iraq.

If approved it will herald the first permanent bilateral alliance with America in peacetime.

The force could be quickly deployed to trouble spots such as Yemen."

Nothing new really but still quite interesting. I'm not sure about the 82nd and how they work but in the UK for anyone looking to deploy on live operations, besides the special forces 3 Para is the place to be. They've been told to keep their eyes on a deployment to Africa in the near future and have been training for it. This would make for quite a potent fighting force with the ability to be anywhere in the world and pretty bloody quickly.

no. Definitely no lol. Three regular battalions. Only difference is 3 Para have a platoon recruited from the Household Division.

Because you don't want your Empire to crumble. It's in both of our interests. Plus WW3 is right around the corner. Proxy wars are about finished. It's mutually beneficial.

I still say 101st !!! I may be biased !!!
