Just a heads up (
) that the Geminids will peak tonight and if you have clear skies you may get to see a few of the estimated 120–160 meteors per hour.
If it's too cold out there for you then watch it live Here from 1am GMT

Why is it that everytime we get a good meteor shower the sky is cloudy?
It's a conspiracy, I say, a conspiracy!

Yes, I see that now. I looked earlier at Spaceweather .com and the story was slightly different. Not going to see them anyway..it was clear all day and clouded over this evening

I'm out on the beach (in the north east US) with some friends now. We got here like 15-20min ago and have seen about 8 so far. Two of then we're very bright. I can't wait to come back out for the peak.
Thank you for the heads up Gortex, I was unaware until I saw this thread

Edit: Totally worth hanging out in cold!
Way more than 8 now. Between the 6 of us around 40. We'll be going back out around 12-1.

They're pretty bright in key west....seen a few every few minutes, started watching them around midnight and it's 2 am now. Still going in, but I'm calming it a night.

I saw one nice meteor last night, bright and yellowish in colour.

It was freezing, I was getting home from a gig and feeling pretty tired, so that was quite enough for me
