What the Heck Happened to D.C.’s Legal Marijuana Yesterday?

Now, what the hell happened? The republicans are at it already, playing right into the hands of big pharma and big business.

This week, activists are gearing up to try and save the law from a Congress determined to kill it.

A provision in a $1 trillion "cromnibus" spending bill that appropriators in Congress released Tuesday night prohibited the District from using any funds to enact the marijuana legalization in the city.

So congress... does whatever it feels like and who cares if 70%+ of the citizens vote yes right? Does that not matter? Does congress do anything with our best interests at heart?

Congress to D.C.: You Can’t Legalize Marijuana

Voters in the District last month overwhelmingly approved legalizing marijuana. But now lawmakers from the rest of the country have decided that doesn't matter.

A massive bill to fund most of the federal government for the rest of the fiscal year would block D.C. from implementing the ballot measure, as advocates had feared.

Who the hell do these people think they are managing personal sovereignty over ones consciousness and body? What is congress doing?

Damnit republicans.
