Sprint, Nextel Deal Nears For $36B

Well the choices are narrowing for our wireless services
these days as Sprint is about to gobble up Nextel.
PHILADELPHIA/NEW YORK (Reuters) - Sprint Corp. is in advanced negotiations to buy Nextel Communications Inc. for more than $36 billion in a mostly stock deal that would combine the No. 3 and No. 5 U.S. wireless service carriers, sources familiar with the situation said Friday.

It wasn't that long ago that Cingular gobbled up AT&T for a $41 billion deal which left five major companies in the wireless market.
I wonder how long before we will be down to one... choice???
