"America, Zionism, and the veteran expert of spreading divisions - the wicked government of Britain - have sharply increased their efforts of creating divisions between the Sunnis and Shi'ites."

Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, on Monday blamed the United States and the "wicked" British government for creating the Islamic State, in his first speech since undergoing prostate surgery last month.

"America, Zionism, and especially the veteran expert of spreading divisions - the wicked government of Britain - have sharply increased their efforts of creating divisions between the Sunnis and Shi'ites," he said, according to his website, in a speech marking a Shi'ite Muslim religious holiday.

"They created al-Qaida and Da'esh in order to create divisions and to fight against the Islamic Republic, but today, they have turned on them (Islamic State)," Khamenei said.

"A careful and analytic look at the developments reveals that the US and its allies, in efforts that are falsely termed countering Daesh, seek to create division and enmity among the Muslims rather to destroy the root causes of that (terrorist) current," Khamenei said.

"Shi'ites and Sunnis must know that any action or remark, including insulting one another, leads to increased sensitivities and ignite flames. This will certainly benefit the common enemy of all Muslims."

It's no shocker Iran's Supreme Leader would say such things given Iran is our foe and his history, post 1979. That all said, I can't say I disagree with a lot of his points and there are many western citizens that 100% agree with every word.

Frankly, Iran is no better than Zionist Israel. Can't disagree with him on the points he made but shouldn't he fix his own country too? Just because there's a greater evil out there doesn't give you the right to act less evil.

If you talk to anyone from Iraq about Zionists, they'll most like say something similar to this, without going much further: "You guys have no idea how much your minds are controlled."

Try it. I've talked to two people from Iraq and one from India and one from Somolia.

Who knows? Impossible to prove if they are merely paid (or unpaid) war-provocateurs.

Even if someone did step forward (supposedly from the inside) to admit such, would would believe it nowadays?

Who knows where the lies begin and where the lies are hidden in double-speak lies again?

Iran isn't that evil actually. We made them evil by toppling their democratically elected leader (who we endorsed until he said he wanted some oil revenue going to his people) to install a puppet dictator who oppressed the Iranian people.

This is the narrative they want you to believe.

The ayatollah among a very few know exactly what IS is, their true origins, and ultimately the role they must play in the fulfillment of prophecies...

It has from inception, been a brilliantly executed plan. There is one more step the west must take, and so far they haven't...

imo

Where exactly is Ayatollah wrong on this ?

He got his history right bang up to date.

However, and unwittingly I think, he also exposed something that could well be a threat to the Western way of life and that is a united muslim empire made up of both shi'ite and sunni. Perhaps we have been safe up till multi culturalism started mashing up cultures together into some chaotic sandwich which gives you the wind - and would it be to our interests to have all the muslims who have migrated within our countries suddenly unifying and trying to convert everyone to their medieval belief system.

I like the Ayatollah's use of modern (ish) parlance in describing the UK as wicked, i'm not surprised though as i used to see him a lot on the free party scene in the 1990's absolutely off his nut on E's and Whizz. Brapp Brapp

For a while there I thought things were cooling off and settling down between Iran and the West. Nothing like a quick jab in the eye to get things flowing smoothly again. Must have had a fire or something go wrong at one of their Nuclear facilities lately.

*North and South Korea exchange artillery and Iran takes a swing at the west.

Islam will go the way of the catholic Church, it will become irrelevant as it should, as when we overthrew the kings of Europe, the Pope and the British Empire, next will be the Islamic Empire.

Hopefully we do move on from religion. It's unnecessary once you figure out the real truths of the way things are. 99% of religion is social control but each religion has the truth buried in it.

The rest is silly. There is no Islamic empire. The only empire in present times is the American empire. Also Christianity and the Vatican are going strong and the British empire just merged with the American one. Almost every former British possession is in American hands now. It's funny how if you don't call it an empire literally, people don't see it as an empire

a reply to: SwillsI think he is spot on about those issues and wicked is a very polite way of describing the English government considering their involvement and interference in Iran's affairs and abusing their resources for centuries.
