rt.com...

I know I'm going to get a lot of flak for posting an RT news video... but it is unedited video from the White House.

From beginning to end... watch Obama's hands.... Watch what he does with them when he says what he says... Keep in mind that you know a little about his past and you might think you know what he believes in... His hands tell you EVERYTHING... This President is the WORST President EVER!!!
Show of palm is an apology.
Hand clasp is fear of the public knowing the truth.
Wide hands are an admission of truth.
Single left handed clasp... propaganda.
When listing things off the right hand moves the least when it's the most important... Intelligence, training, and (clasp) equipment. 5:44 to 5:51.

Notice what his hands do when he says something about our troops... or our country without specifics.

I haven't taken a lot of time to do research into this but he's consistent... and any poker player that can sniff a tell... will tell you this guy is telling a story with his hands... I don't have the time... but I'd pay $100 to see what a body language expert says about his hand gestures... as the video goes on... with the audio off... I'd then like to overlay it and see what the "future history" bears out.

Well, you know he is lying...his mouth is moving.

Interesting post though. I would like to see you take this idea further.

No kidding, he was a Community Organizer and Nothing More, I understand he didn't even show up for most of his votes during his short time in the Senate.
Obama Lies,,,, No Need For Fact Checker There!

And you just want to Pull Out Your Hair Out When you try to explain to a Liberal, Progressive, Obama lies!

This is common for politicians these days. Some call it a form of hypnosis, others will say its just good body language training. Politicians speak and move certain ways to make you feel a certain way.
Someone wrote a very extensive article about how politicians, particularly Obama, use these techniques to their advantage.

As a poker player, I can tell you that it's not his hands you want to pay attention to. It's his eyes and his shoulders that you need to look at. Take notice that he will blink and his eyes dart to his left. That's what I notice the most.

he was a Community Organizer

So? There are many community organizers in the US and they come from all different political and social ideologies. Don't tell me that you have fallen for the propaganda and are just using that term because you heard it on the radio or read it on the Right-wing blogosphere.

My guess is that your reply would consist of shameless references to Saul Alinsky....correct?

This has been cited here many times by many members.

Obama went through the training I think.

And he still makes it obvious

As a better poker player, I would say you are horribly wrong. Sure he has tells that say he's lying, but you can also give off false tells to deceive other players like you who think they are good at reading people.

Actually, the best place to look for tells is below the head and shoulders. I believe your feet give away far more things than any part of your body. Voice would be a close 2nd for me, then chest/breathing.

I really don't understand why you believe Obama is the worst president ever. Are you still drinking the Kool-Aid? That's a legitimate question.

He's definitely horrible. But he's not the worst. He's a puppet, you can't be the worst president ever if you are a mere puppet. The worst president ever is one of the puppet masters.

When you realize that Obama was given the presidency to cause the racial, social, and political division in America that he is causing you realize it's part of the plan. If people don't realize it's part of the plan then they have serious waking up to do.

Bill Clinton had tells too (micro expressions). All presidents have them because they are all liars. Some can't hide them as well as they would like. If you haven't watched Lie to Me with Tim Roth you should check it out, it's all about the science of micro expressions. It use to be on Netflix but I am not sure if it's still there.

However, speaking of presidents and micro-expressions/tells here is a great example of one:

As a better poker player than either of you, I know there are private lessons for players to disguise the "tells".

One way is to make it look like you are bluffing when you aren't.

And if you detect a casual player watching for "tells", you can fake it.

In Obama's case, he has a full staff that coaches him for each speech.

All case by case.

But last night, he was lying at an 80% rate.

They can't hide the eyes.

His psy-ops is against the average person, not the well informed.

Considering that this is an online forum and we have never sat down together to play, it's tough to say whether or not who is the better player and, honestly, it doesn't matter. I have no ego to fluff and I could really care less. That being said, your statement is presumptuous and humorous at the same time.

Really? As a great player, do you look under the table often to "read" your opponents? Does your local casino have glass tables? I'm curious because most casinos have specific rules about table etiquette and looking under the table can be a big no-no.

Breathing is a good thing to pay attention to, but the face and shoulders are still the best areas to look. There is a reason why poker players wear sunglasses, hats and hoodies. You can look at their eyes, brow expressions and even tell if their heartbeat is up by looking at their facial skin tone changes (blushing). Their shoulders are also a great place because the shoulders give you insight into their overall posture in certain situations. You can tell if they are excited or feeling defeated.

Hands are the worst tells because they are usually busy with chips or cards. Unless they have am obvious nervous tick, their hands are not something to worry about.

But you are a better poker player with mad feet-reading skills. I submit to your awesomeness.

Exactly. That was the most obvious thing to catch in the video. His hands are of no concern.

It's not even a contest! I'd eat you alive from what you just posted. Probably wouldn't even have to even look at my cards to break you.

First off, to see someone's feet or "below their head and shoulders" as I stated, you don't have to bend down and look under the table. Most decent amateurs even know this.

You can look to your left and right and usually see lower torso movement of players located on either side of you, depending on where you are seated. When folks move their legs, they have movement in their torso also.

If you were actually halfway decent at poker, you would already know these basics.

I'll give you and any other wannabe who may be following along this one free piece of advice- Go get a copy of Mike Navarro's book "Read Em and Reap" and you'll find out that this FBI profiler agrees with me. Your heroes you watch on TV playing, pay him thousands of dollars for his advice on tells.

Want more?

In 2007, I sat down with a fairly successful player from Canada in Los Vegas for about an hour for dinner, after a 4 hr session with him at the tables. This man said he'd hate to play me because of my reading skills. I thanked him, but said "I'm pretty sure you're way better than me Danny". Yep, Mr Negraneau himself. I ate Cantu alive several times and put a beating on Mike "the Mouth" also(I think he was coked up pretty bad that nite).

Yeah, I've been ranked top 200 in the world for 7 straight years in my specialty, but you have no clue. Used walk into several local casinos and watch players shake their heads, get up and leave.......at least the smart ones.

Read the book I recommended for some basics or remain a fish. Swallow your pride bud and start making money.

Indeed. That's why I was a bit surprised at your response. I enjoy playing poker and I have my ups and downs. Nothing I said implied I was better than anyone else. So your reply of "as a better poker player" was, like I said, presumptuous and frankly arrogant.

I'd eat you alive from what you just posted. Probably wouldn't even have to even look at my cards to break you.

Wait....I thought this wasn't a contest. Perhaps a pissing match? Either way, I'm not interested.

Now your changing your story. I agree that that watching body language is important and is part of an overall reading strategy, and I did state that posture was important. I tend to find it easier to read in the shoulders, as all movement tends to affect the whole body line. That's just where I tend to look. But in all fairness, you did say feet without any explanation...so it did come off as being a silly statement.

If you were actually halfway decent at poker, you would already know these basics.

I don't believe you know anything about my skills or lack thereof, but you sure do make a lot of assumptions and snotty remarks, though.

I've read many books on poker. Can't tell you how many I have on the shelf at home. What I learned from each and every one is that those books only teach what works for them. You have to learn what tells and sign you are receptive to and not train yourself to play like some other person tells you in a book. Brunson was big on that point.

Your heroes you watch on TV playing, pay him thousands of dollars for his advice on tells.

I don't even watch tv and despise the WPT flunkies that used to flock to the casinos trying to be the next superstar. Thankfully, they began to go back to football and WWF.....so the tables are much more enjoyable to play these days. But I couldn't help but notice that you are, once again, making a lot of assumptions about me.

I'm not some flash in the pan poker player. I've been playing for some time now and enjoy the art of the game. I've never played with any big named stars, but when I was a dealer I had the pleasure of dealing a couple rotations to Greg Raymer. Very nice guy and a great tipper.

Want more?

Not really. I originally posted in this thread to add my two cents about the Obama video and stand by what I said. His eyes and shoulders tell more than his hands. And that's just my opinion. Anyone is free to disagree.

For some reason, you decided to exert your poker "baddassery" and turn a decent conversation into a pissing contest where you try to build yourself up by attempting to belittle me. That's ok. I'm a big boy. I can take it.

I wish you luck at the tables and I hope the cards treat you kind. I'll leave you with one thing I learned from my years playing pitiful poker: Poker and arrogance is a recipe for disaster.

Kid stuff!

Sadly... I have less time today than I had yesterday... I know the tv show "Lie To Me" wasn't 100% accurate... when speaking to a person's motives... but It is a CIAFBILPD... sanctioned practice... "Put them on camera... and then rehash it". If they find a string they think will unravel the blanket... they yank it.

Here we have someone... who says he's Christian... His favorite sound in the world is a musilim prayer. He refers to his musilim faith once when he meant to say "Christian". You know... It happens... I've done it... NEVER! But don't give him a hard time... He's opening the southern border... which is good for children... right?

Ebola... Tuberculosis... It's going around... 15yr old kid with gang tats and a cough... let him in first... We'll put him into a well to do family in the upscale suburbs.... we'll pay the person who takes him in $7000 a month... but... only if they take 6 more.

I'm not sure what to do about ISIS... Their is an acronym for the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria... but they now want to be called the ISLAMIC STATE. The president says that they aren't really ISLAMIC. Those crazy bastards are stealing the name of a "peaceful religion"... bastardizing it... and using the ideals preached in it... and executing non-Islamics by beheading them.

Prez says they are the Junior Varsity of terrorists... but they've taken over 1/3 of Syria and 1/2 of Iraq... in under 2 months... He said at first that he didn't have a strategy... then he said that the strategy we would implement would be to "degrade" their capabilities to a "manageable level...

Islam is a disease... If you read the teachings of ISLAM... you understand that everyone that adheres to %100 of it's teaching is supposed to either convert or kill anyone that doesn't believe as they do. This is a CANCER. A cancerous cell contacts a non cancerous cell and spreads the cancer... the cells that don't change... die.

Islam is CANCER on earth! If you don't agree with my way I will cut off your head... It doesn't matter that you're only 6yrs old. I don't have the link... but kids are having their heads cut off and put on spikes... Christians are being crucified... and our President has to be shamed into doing as little as he thinks is necessary...

Our President will take any action necessary to produce negative results and ensure that ISIS expands. I'll guarantee that next year... ISIS will have, at the very least, twice as much land... as they do now.

Cancer... Cancer... Cancer...
His war... is Poison. I promise you this... Everything the dumb-ass in the white house does... will benefit two things... Islam... and the Democrat party...

Let in immigrants (Mexicans we Hope) through the southern border... take in as many 16yr olds as you can... (It doesn't really matter because if you aren't required to show Id then there is no reason you can't vote. Let's turn red states blue. Don't have the voters in that state? We'll ship 'em in from Mexico... Debate on Immigration doesn't matter... The unmarked, White, 13 passenger vans from Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona... are everywhere! I see them every day... YES I TRULY MEAN EVERY DAY.

They are excited... the drivers speak english... but i've never gotten a passenger to speak... I've asked questions about where they are coming from.. but I always get a head shake or pretty much ignored...

It's a sad day for the US... the good news is that that we always have another option... I fully support it... but I pray it won't come to that...
