Just because you get death threats is no excuse for being the worst President of The United States of all time. How many peoples "death certificates" has HE signed since he won the Nobel Peace Prize? Tell you what, I dare ANY Obama supporter to give me ONE, just ONE positive thing that he has accomplished.

A small improvement to his golf game.

The only thing about what you said that is an outrage to me is the fact that you think the only possible reason people would want to do this is because of the color of his skin. As if it had nothing to do with his poor leadership and socialist agenda.

Socialist agenda? Seriously? Still with this nonsense?

Yes really. What non sense? He wants to raise taxes on the rich and raise the wages for the poor. He wants to equalize the wealth. That is socialist.

Have you any awareness of what the word 'socialist' means or how it's applied?

Of course I do. Otherwise, I wouldn't have used the word in a sentence.

Obama ended up being right of center, at best. He has embraced corporate run capitalism wholeheartedly.

Not true at all. All he has done is take initiatives to raise taxes on the rich and raise what corporations have to pay to those who make minimum wage. If that's "embracing capitalism", America is screwed.

Do you not realize that the left felt abandoned because he catered so hard to the right?

No. I don't realize that. Nor do I believe that the left is mad at Obama for not being Socialist enough. Maybe they're mad at him for not taking more executive actions and bypassing America's checks and balances through dictator loopholes, but that's another story.

I don't know what to say to you people that just can't read history books. It's so pervasive in this country it's maddening. Such a continuously sad comment on the USA. And why does it always delivered in this proudly unaware way?

What does history have to do with anything? We're not comparing anything here. And you don't know what books I've read. We're looking at the definition of socialism and looking at Obama's ambitions, and it is clear that they line up. The only reason we're not a full on socialist country now is that the republican house won't allow that to happen.

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

His policies stink. People aren't getting the hope and change and transparency he promised. I"m not surprised at the numbers ...

As an ATS Staff Member, I will not moderate in threads such as this where I have participated as a member.

FlyersFan, have you always been a Mod? Just noticing.

Sorry to deviate from the OP. I hope it counts that I already replied my thoughts earlier.

I've gotten death threats here simply by criticizing Obama's policies.

*meh*

Grow a pair Mr. President. It comes with the territory.

Death threats? Too emotional on both sides. I thought there was consensus that the President isn't really in charge? Sure they have some influence but in the end, it really doesn't matter who's in the W. H. Dens or Repubs. Obama is the latest scapegoat for the PTB and he's in over his head so some people want to take it off.

Nothing Obama has done or suggested has been from a socialist perspective. He has towed the same old capitalist class system from his onset. And he hasn't suggested raising taxes on the rich any more than they have been in the past (in fact, it's far less then they have been historically). "Taxes" do not make socialism, they are, and always have been part of a capitalist society as well. You are looking at this far too simply. Even Obamacare is capitalist from the ground up.

Of course I do. Otherwise, I wouldn't have used the word in a sentence.

Using a word in a sentence doesn't mean you understand it.

Do you see the rich hurting? Are they not making record profits? Ridiculous. You should be ashamed of doing the corporate dirty work for them. They don't need your defense. They own the government already, as if the government has any power actually affect the corporate stranglehold.

No. I don't realize that. Nor do I believe that the left is mad at Obama for not being Socialist enough. Maybe they're mad at him for not taking more executive actions and bypassing America's checks and balances through dictator loopholes, but that's another story.

Oh, well take this as a lesson learned then. Trust me, the left does feel betrayed by Obama for this very reason. Your "executive action" claim here is nothing but pure right rhetoric. The figures just aren't in your favor. The number of executive actions passed by Obama are one of the lowest (not lowest, but one of) in the past 100 years of presidents. It's because of statements like this that you should actually study history (see next quote).

What does history have to do with anything? We're not comparing anything here. And you don't know what books I've read. This entire statement reveals your absolute ignorance on this entire topic. Even countries that claim to be socialist no longer are. USA socialist! Wow dude, just wow.

I'm no defender of Obama. Like I said, what he promised wasn't delivered. He ended up playing the same hawkish, corporate catering, underhanded games as the last president, and the one before him, and the one before him, and so on. But unlike some other presidents, I don't think that was his original plan. Not like it matters now. He got sucked up by the system that actually runs the country.
