After Reading more on the system rather than just watching that video in the op .... Who do you believe ... Israel defence are claiming it stops upto 75 % to 90 % of rockets coming in from Gaza So without that iron dome system surely more people would be at risk or they would certainly be more casualties ??? Riouz

The rockets from Gaza are unguided so they were going to miss up to 90% or more of their targets anyway. Most of them land in empty fields nowhere near anything. What you and other supporters of the Iron Dome don't seem to understand is nothing has changed. The people are no safer now than back then.

Does this whole situation in the middle east kind of remind anyone of the movies District 9 and Elysium?

The people on the outside have this great and powerful technology living safely in their shielded dome. While these subclass people are trapped on the inside. Unable to evacuate its citizens easily due to border blockades, the outcasts fight back with what they can. Outdated military munitions obtained which every way possible do little in terms of efficacy yet do provide a false sense of revenge for the rebel fighters.

I imagine in the future there to exist entire countries shielded by a dome type defense system. The majority of the world will not have access to this luxury. Those countries today which are falling behind in technology and arms. The people in these countries will be poor, powerless and insignificant. It will spur a great deal of rebels and freedom fighters who see a great unbalance in the world. Their frustration leads to anger, jealousy and abandonment which in turn leads to acts of violence. Many casualties ensue, but those lucky to live in the shields hardly notice. They are safe after all.

How far off are we?
