I am not sure where to post this, mods please move to the correct forum.

I came across this while browsing around.

Felix Diemann is a German motion designer who has just completed a bachelor's degree in Design Media Communication.

His thesis was "Citius, Altius, Fortius“ (Latin for „Faster, Higher, Stronger“- the Olympic motto) and experimental animation exploring the interplay of abstract shapes and motions. The movements of famous Olympians where digitalised into 3D through motion tracking and rotoscoping of original footage of Olympic competitions. Camera motions and playback speed of the footage were borrowed and the movements of the athletes were recreated frame by frame.

It is not on you tube and I am not sure how to post a video from another site, but the link is Felix Diemann

Usain Bolt

Nadia Comaneci

Michael Phelps

Just seems random with no real purpose tbh.

The Michael phelps one. Looks like the points he was tracking on the human body might be the hands?

Purpose?
Art?
Practice? (It was for his study thesis after all)
Application in animated movies or games?

No real purpose? I just liked it, that's all.
