Yes, I think the RAF is, or will be doing the same. I'll take it as not technically, "Boots on the ground" I'll say no more in case some 'IS' artist is looking in.

So is this Iraq 3.0 or 2.1?

Nothing `breaking ` about this
it was announced two days ago the U.S would be sending military advisers to assess the situation

Also, there are about 5 other threads on ISIS/ Iraq all discussing this

It's just a rescue operation

Not a full-blown invasion of a country that had nothing to do with 9-11

I am surprised anyone would think they ever left. I would bet SF has had eyes on since day one of ISIS insurrection.

Neither did the first one. Where'd 911 come from?

I'd rather hope that all the people are given a safe passage et al, and that some sort of supplies were brought in, especially water, The Guardian article is a bit shaky in the supply respect, talking about, 'time is short' and *'water droplets' yet we've already been told the children are dying from thirst. This is one of the worst articles I've ever seen from The Guardian.

* sorry about that, I should have said 'air drops alone' it seems.

I'm with you.

Didn't they say it would be around 130 more people they are sending?

Hell it's been talked about on every news source I've watched for a couple days.

The Guardian has updated that information in their article, it seems the number is much less than 100, (that was the number they had used) someone must have slapped their wrists.

Obama makes me chuckle... no combat role, but we are going into to rescue people that are encircled by a group that wants to exterminate them... ummm... how is that not a combat role?

Is ISIS just going to say... oh go ahead and take them we weren't serious about this anyways..

Yeah I notice you've started several yourself.

I understand the situation is concerning, but it makes it harder to gather the facts and digest the situation when you have to read eight or nine threads - Try and keep your posts coherent and less scattered.

Peace

I hope they get in and out in a hurry, this ISIS mob look to be a better class of opposition than what the US are used to.
