Well, how about some of our members that live near Yellowstone tell us how 'evacuated' the Park really is.

Sounds like the guy is reading too much into this. Of course Yellowstone could erupt, but that does not mean it will. It could be many years and even then it could be a mild eruption. If it erupts, it erupts, we will worry about it when it does I suppose. Now it they start evacuating people because of an impending eruption, then maybe they should leave before the rush.

The scientific community is split on when exactly the volcano will erupt. Some say weeks, while other camps suggest that it could be several months. One thing they all agree on, however, is that it will happen very, very soon. Senior Volcanologist Richard Dunn gave the following report in regards to the volcano’s alarming activity. “This is something which could have never been accurately determined ahead of time. This unpredictable flux of activity is quite concerning, and flies in the face of all our previous studies in regards to this particular volcano. Our chief concern at this point is getting people to safety.”

If anyone here lives near that area, it would interesting to have your take on what's going on.

The news reported a forest fire in Yellowstone National Park. It would seem logical that any campers or people would be evacuated from the danger. Maybe people are connecting the wrong dots?

If evacuations were happening, this place would be blowing up with threads about it. Pun intended.

I call it, WHAT DOES IT MATTER?

If it happens, it will happen suddenly, with not enough warning to do anything about it.

If it happens, well, we'll all be plunged into nuclear winter and more than 1/2 of everyone in the US will die quickly and the remaining will see 1/2 of them die slowly from the non-existent infrastructure.

We can't stop it.

So what does it really matter, does worrying about it stop it? NO

Does fretting about it and "preparing" for it make a difference? Not for the vast majority of Americans for very long, as crops won't grow even if you have heirloom seeds because of nuclear winter.

So will it improve ones life in the least to spend time worrying about this? NO

So let it be and if it happens well most of us will die either quickly or within a year, so ..... we can't stop that. So why ruin your life thinking about it?

Volcanoes do fortunately show signs weeks before an eruption. Unlike earthquakes which do happen suddenly volcanoes take their time ramping things up for the big event. We watched Mt. St. Helens wheeze for months before it blew. eeply to: grandmakdw
