The NFL is actually a tax exempt entity, which in my opinion is BS.

To be fair it's pretty close to a religion for some people

They even have services on Sunday morning and Monday night.

Alright.. I will give you that one...

I wonder if the tickets / pay per view is tax deductible as a donation to The Church of the 5th down
.

Moral conundrum aside, it does highlight the vulnerability in our tax system. If it can be that easily manipulated by a business, it makes one wonder how it can be manipulated / the extent of manipulation on the inside. Granted Congress was behind the tax exempt status, but still.

It's not really manipulation since our government knows what is going on and simply doesn't care. The system is definitely a joke.

As an in between part time/full time (28-30 hours) employee while in college I paid more in taxes than all of Walmart paid in Massachusetts. I believe they paid something like $328 for the year.

that sounds like a nice idea, and I would agree.

but no representative would want to touch it.

I think I heard one time a proposal that would have the tax-code overhauled but leave the records of who voted for it or against it confidential for a decade or more.
