Must admit I have had a great day with my service users, we went and watched the tour and while we waited we had a picnic and had a right laugh.
I gotta say Yorkshire has really done itself proud today what a turnout

Reports are 2.5 million people lined the route.
Dunno who won or anything about the sport but it has gotten people on bikes and everyone happy in Yorkshire.
Also I didn't here one Yorkshire warcry.

"How much?"

Gotta say even as a Manc I love Yorkshire great people and what a day

Oh and the views man it is gods own country.

The "Tour" is an awesome event.

It looked beautiful going through your Country.

Also, the fans didn't get in the way like the crazy French.

Watched both days so far... The crowds are absolutely astonishing. You'd think they're climbing Alp D'Huez...or one of the huge mountains...

It's cool though. I love bicycle racing.

Coming from Yorkshire I was amazed at how many people were up Buttertubs pass. How the frick they all got there without cars is a mystery. Must have been a hell of a morning trek from Hawes.....unless they beamed in. In which case they must have called upon a famous Star Trek Yorkshireman to help them Jean Luc Picard (ie Patrick Stewart from Mirfield West Yorkshire my home town).

I watched it on Channel Five out of France. Couldn't understand but one or two words in ten, but I got a kick out of the graphics...especially the names of the various passes and hills. Can't really call 'em mountains...

Stage Three went off without a hitch.

Exciting sprint finish. ...and five million plus people watched the three stages...

Well done, England. Well done. Guaranteed, the Tour'll be back soon with perhaps a couple of more stages...

Was a great event, made me very proud to be a Yorkshireman. I watched it at the sprint, on the Keighley trunk road. Really enjoyed the event, only problem was that because it was a sprint, they'd all passed me in about five seconds! And that was it, gone, time to go home!

It was a special day with a special atmosphere, one I hope we'll see again.

Yorkshire truly is a beautiful place, although it does have its scars like Bradford where I live.

So what does a typical Yorkshire picnic consist of?

Where adult beverages flowing freely?

If I didn't have an autistic dude to look after the bitter would have flowing but I did so only pop for me

Reason to be. You did it up right.

A bit too close to the riders, but no harm, no foul.

Dodge City? You've got me there! Do tell...

It is indeed Lister Park, very nice place on the right day with the right people around.

Manningham is another area that must have been beautiful once upon a time, there's some amazing houses around there, shame they've mostly been turned into bedsits these days.

It was very close to the riders where I was stood, in fact one guy got hit by one. I'd have loved to have been up the cobbles in Howarth village, that cobbled road must only be four or five meters wide!
