So you need a reason to get out there in the wilderness
why not try Geocaching?

The first question everyone asks is---What is geocaching?

Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location.

Here's the link to the site...don't worry it's free to sign up for a hunt

Basically it's an outdoors game---hide and seek if you would... people go out in the middle of nowhere and hide things. most often just a logbook in a small container where everyone can write there name and claim bragging rights

other times there is a real treasure to be found

Mostly it's not about what you find but having an excuse to just get out there,

Sometimes you'll find treasure you never knew you were looking for.

Some Geocaches are a real challenge to get to.

other's not so much

all the Geocaches the wife and I look for are all in places we wanted to go explore anyway.

places we never would have found if not for hunting a Geocache.

And it gets the wife and daughter's out of the house.

Yeah you could just stay home and look at pretty pictures.

But then you'd be missing out on all this!

Well... what you waiting for?

I love Geocaching in the UK and it takes you to all the secret spots of our countryside. No people, no noise just blissful green, quiet beauty.
Ps watch out for the muggles wink wink

All my photos are from my little SW corner of Colorado.

But we've done in it Oklahoma and in Kansas, up in Wyoming, just about anyplace we've wanted to check-out and have a little fun while we were at it
