Only if its known! otherwise its just code, just like the rest of the game.

That is true when trying to detect a virus in binary data. I'm talking about running the code; random data being sent out to unknown servers is very easily noticed.

Also, as someone else mentioned, when you have the original code it isn't that hard to find something malicious in an edited version. A simple search for an extra occurrence of a winsock connect would probably find 80% of all methods of trojan injection.
