0 (Zero) is not "nothing" - rather, it is the potential of becoming "something".

Can we prove this? Yes, I think we can, using maths.

What do you think is the solution to this math quiz?

0⁰ = ?

If you think that 0 equals nothing then you problably think that "nothing" with an exponent of "nothing" results in "nothing"? Well, you would be wrong, as:

0⁰ = 1

You see, 0 always has the potential to become something and giving it an exponent of 0 brings this "something" into fruition.

Could this also explain how the Big Bang could come from nothing - did the Cosmos always have the potential to exist?

I really enjoy all of this.
The equations are correct.

Still.
I wonder when in time I might be able to print a cheesburger from nothing.

Americans, you are always thinking about food

In relation to the existence of reality I don't think non-existence would accurately be described as zero as zero does exist and non existence is the absolute absence of being (no zero/no placeholder).

If you were to attempt to correctly adhere your line of thought to existence it would mean that the nothing was in fact something and not nonexistence at all… which doesn't explain existence coming from absence of existence but something else that is defined as nothing in relation to a lack of a specified something…. which is not the big bang coming from nonexistence so it's not really saying much at all in regard to explaining anything.

It's not true that something can't have the potential to exists while at the same time not existing; we have the same principles within the laws of relativistic quantum field theories, where something can spontaniously come from nothing.

The potential could be considered a Simulacrum, in a postmodernist sense, that becomes "something real" in its own right.

There is no evidence of something coming from non-existanece but something could come from nothing as a nothing is a concept confined to the potential for something to exist. Nothing/Zero is something.

Without the 1, the equation is meaningless. They add the 1, so as to give it meaning.
