This Courageous 39 year old woman had bilateral Cochlea implants,

and now can hear for the first time in her life.

The emotional response is moving.

This really should dial into perspective what many of us take for granted.

Achievements such as this spark light in the darkness for me.

That is awesome! I am about to go to bed but I will watch this in the morning. I have often though of how it would be to grow up without one of the senses only to gain it later in life. How that would feel? I can't even imagine... like tripping I guess...

It is more like a "Life Changing Event" that
doesn't wear off.

Can you imagine what it would be like to hear music
for the first time after 39 years of silence?

This is a miraculous cure.

What a moment to watch! It is hard to imagine what she is experiencing. Why does the other woman (Tester? Doctor?) in the video continue talking so loudly and so fast to her? It must be overwhelming!! My son has had moderate-to-severe hearing loss, since he was born, and too much input, too fast, usually has a negative effect.

The other woman is only trying to maintain stability
for the patient, adjust parameters, and document the results.

I can imagine that sitting in her chair is rather difficult but rewarding.

Yeah, I think it will be quite a while before she can
discern what noise pollution is.

lets hope so anyway.

That is so wonderful. Everything will be a huge adjustment for a while. Imagine when she first hears traffic and real noise. Poor thing will be scared to death at first.

I would play Justin Beiber to her quickly....may as well get the bad noises out there so she doesn't get too shocked and give the implant back. ;P

Great video OP great to see that humanity does great things for others everyday
