Nuclear war or learn to speak Russian?

With all the talk about war with Russia, which is very doubtful, it made me think of an interesting thought.

If you were the "decider" ( a lil GW shout out hehe) and the only options before you were mutually assured destruction or submit to a Russian invasion. What would you choose. No trying to think of a different way to beat them. Your only options are large scale nuclear war or surrender.

What would you choose?

Assuming Russia could even transport enough troops this way for
an effective invasion, somehow managed to get over the whole
armed citizen mountain they would face and that was the
only real option then a nuclear war it would be for sure.

That is the entire purpose of MAD, you do not fear invasion
because you could flatten entire continents and make them
useless. This goes both ways though, we could no more
invade Russia for fear of the same thing.

Ill bite .....

Well since my kids are half Russian, i decided to learn Russian ;-) i would have no problem fitting in. However ! I would defend this country if it were "Attacked" by the Russians.

Which would you choose. Allow another country to take the US over or mutually assured nuclear destruction. There is no third option.

But really? People don't realize, all the Russians or Chinese have to do is simply stop using the dollar. All this ratcheting up sanctions stuff is tiddlywinks compared to that.

Russia cant take over the world.

What about the gay people? Do they plan to convert everyone to heterosexuality (plus a long list of other things russians hate about freedom)

never gunna happen, it would explode of its own volition if it got CLOSE to owning the planet.

Russians are notoriously aggressive against gays, politically, mentally and psychically.

If they want the planet, they have to do somthing about the things they dont like, the good things about this planet is theres a lot of choices of places to live.

I quite like the sound of cypress atm. My sorta people, just drink beer all day and take siesta's and watch the world turn while everyone else goes nuts.

oh thanks. the program that narrates each reply for the visually impaired to listen to the written words instead of reading has problems with abbreviations.

Ok, I'Il answer the question of death or learning a new language, look like I'm going to be speaking Russian.

And this actually made me think, as one of the first poster noted we feel safe against a nuclear war when we have the idea of M.A.D.
Mutually Assured Destruction...the idea that a superpower wouldn't attack another because the response would be so swift and violent that nobody survives.
With the current lack of strong leadership I do not think this principle applies, if Russia even mentioned attacking continental United States, the Potus would probably threaten sanctions.
Its quite conceivable

With the options of "everybody dies" or learns to read and write Russian, I would opt for learning Russian
