"Friendship" UFO / Tall Whites radio transmission intercepted by a Chilean HAM operator, 1984

A few nights ago on Ground Zero with Clyde Lewis, he played an alleged radio interception that coincided with a UFO sighting. You can hear the exchange on the soundcloud rebroadcast page. They spoke in Spanish and were having a conversation that the HAM operator documented to tape.
I have only found a few things on the web about it. But it's such a great story!

Here is an overview from Mysterious Universe:

It was 1984, someplace near the Southern coast of Chile, and a mysterious distress signal had just buzzed across the receiver of ham radio operator Octavio Ortiz. A business agent who operated a small 27-megacycle CB station in his pastime, Ortiz, who went by the ham operator’s handle Lucero or “bright star,” was mystified by what he was hearing, as it seemed to have to do with a bright celestial object of an entirely different kind.

Mysterious Universe

One other piece of info I found is by a ufologist that actually traveled to the town to track down the HAM operator. This was a long time ago, he could not reach him by phone, so he flew to Chile to find him. The link is from a super old blog, and I cannot find Part 1 of the story, but the Mysterious Universe article has the background.

According to Ernesto de la Fuente, who actually visited the island, there is a certain point after crossing the Moraleda Channel in which the vessels employed by the Friendship are magnetically guided to their enigmatic island. A entrance amid the rocks opens to provide access to the underground area, which is allegedly "equipped with all manner of advanced gear and electronic devices." De la Fuente was told that all the electronics originated in Valparaíso and in certain instances were brought in from abroad

Check out the Moraleda Channel in Chile on google Earth. According to the old magazine story, there is an opening somewhere within the rocks leading into the alleged alien base. And the town is called quemchi chiloe chile.

what an interesting story. when is the book and film trilogy coming out?

Hard to make out but the radio host translates, not sure how well.

Huh. This really reminds me of one of the UFO targets they had remote viewers try to check out. The one with the ship...

I'm listining again. Soundcloud is hard to deal with, as far as being able to select within the timeline of the audio.

This is the first transmission received, and is not an exact translation. It's a description of what was said.

a= Ariel - alien pilot
w= woman - radio contactee or occupant of another craft


w- ship location?
a- ship at 5 degress
w- i can see the craft (she sounds very excited, yelling)
w- she asks about alberto, is he ok
a- all is well
w- friendship, ask to come aboard
a- cryptic response, he uses the word apocalypses
Now, a different man, Lucero - he chimes in and implies they are trying to zero in on the base
a- no helicopters or planes should be flying near their craft, stay away,
he (Ariel/alien craft) has to repeat it because another man indicates he is going to continue his approach
a- speaks English this time, "don't get so closer, don't get so closer"
many people jump on radio, as the alien pilot Ariel warns there are magnetic fields surrounding their aircraft, communication becomes jumbled by all the different people

There is a better translation later in the broadcast, as someone sends audio that has been cleaned up and the guest does a line by line translation. I will try to transcribe later.

There was also a later transmission by an "alien" named 'Marte Uno' or, Mars One. I will try and find these on the radio show and share.

a - i dont know i can't explain it to you. look. i don't know how to explain it to you. look in the north, look in the sky.
w - hello ariel, hello friendship
a - tell the helicopter, do not approach, do not approach
w - i'm trying to see what? tell me, what are you going to move? i see, it's moving! areil, hello, ariel, tell me what's happening?
a - just 5 degrees. everything is fine. all is well, you could be seeing all of this.
w - oh my, ariel, you are the summer



up next, Marte Uno speech

Here is the translation of the final communication. According to the old magazine blog, the military became involved. They spoke of needing to communicate via telepathy at this point. So this is the last communication that was recorded by the radio operator.

Contact with the brotherhood has been interrupted for some two years now. The island's residents claimed that the Chilean military was recording their communications and it would henceforth become necessary to try other means of contact, such as telepathy.

I suggest you listen to the audio, friend. I heard excitement and desperation.

That's just my opinion, though.

But none of the recorded voices sounded under the influence to me.

I have no idea if this is true. But it is a contact story that is compelling, and under-reported, and older than the modern times of easy fakery.

The Pescara Italy contact was with presumably these same aliens..................they were called the W56 and manifested many unexplained instances for Stephano Breggio and others.....look em up on you tube...theres video documentation as well as a book by the contactees as they are getting quite old and want to pass on the experience.....
There is a similar place called the isle of friendship off the coast of S America...possibly Argentine or perhaps Chile where the aliens have been having mass contact with people too....
Oh and an island at the mouth of the Amazon that was hot for a while.....

And of course the very "last" choice of frequencies to use for semi-private communications.

You can easily make a simple tape recording and play it over the CB freqs to recreate an event.

I am neither a HAM or CB operator. Forgive my nativity in the title if that's what you're referring to. Did you read the Mysterious Universe article?

It reports him as a CB operator and he has a handle. I think I got the HAM stuck in my head due to the radio show host.

Really interesting radio conversation. I found something that maybe interesting because it has similarities with this story I think..

Hall said the Tall Whites had an accord with the Air Force and shared technology with them. Earth was a kind of "way station" or airport for them, and they constructed their smaller scout crafts here. Most curiously, he noted the extraterrestrials were allowed to go off base on occasion. Disguised as humans, they particularly liked visiting Las Vegas, where he said they would gamble at casinos such as the Stardust and tell people they were from "Northern Spain." He also conjectured that some ghost reports may actually be sightings of the ethereal looking Tall Whites.
