yea..

My wife didn't want this any more because we couldn't afford the license, she attempted to uninstall and is saying something about a patch..it is now giving the error message of 'Virus scan failed' and stops the download 1/2 way through it....she can't download even windows updates.. she's using WinXP home.....

how do I get rid of a program that is embedded and won't uninstall ??

Malwarebytes scanned already... cleaned ..

Adwcleaner.. scanned & cleaned ..

anything else would be helpful, it's a business PC so wiping the drive isn't an option .. looking for technical support

ETA: Google is my friend .. hold up a sec..

BAM ! got it ..removed.. love it, eat it, breathe it.. --->Kaspersky Removeal Tool

You could try booing up in safe mode and uninstall from there. Make sure you force a shut down of any Kaspersky programs that are running through crtl + alt + del as well.

This is what I do when the uninstall option won't work:

Start---Control Panel---Programs and Features---Find Kaspersky---- right click-----uninstall.

Microsoft Security Essentials.

Never, ever, pay for an anti-virus.

I used to work for Kaspersky, phone their free support line, they will fix your issue.

Esp the UK branch (as i can personally vouch for that one), though they will likely just direct you to the removal tool (KAVremover)
