Saw my cats staring at something out back.

If i was correct in my thinking, it would be a young brush-tail possum - with no fear !

I knew this - as it had dropped by recently. Literally.

The cats were out and very attentive, I focused on their intended prey and here is a young,
apparently - friendly brush-tail possum - that I mistakenly,said "hello' to.
He/She immediately ran down the fence.

This possum had no fear of myself or the two cats stalking it ( it actually stood up and gave them the I'M BIG signal, lol.)

Problem was - the trees in my yard have anti - cat escape - measures applied.

Anyhow, after much inquisitiveness from both parties I had to herd said cats indoors - undo
above anti-cat escape devices and free the possum that succumbed to the ant-cat ... you get the idea.

Tonight it was back.

Here's my pic. It did happen.

Cute - poetry on a fence ...

Awesome. He looks like he's praying.

On a side note, we have a few issues with rabies around here and one of the first signs they tell you to look for is an animal that is not scared of you and does not run away like a normal wild animal would when you approach it. So be careful! /mom mode off

Hopefully your's is rabies free and just feels pretty safe "reading" the poetry on your fence.
He certainly looks cute enough.

Now I can't get Jeff Dunham out of my head. I read Poetry on A Fence and now all my inside voice is saying is... Jalapeno On A Stick.

Haha! Prayer possum !

Luckily in Australia, rabies is a non-issue. They can give a nasty bite however, in which case you should seek medical attention. Even if it is only a tetanus shot required. ( or anti-biotics ! )

Thanks for your reply !
