As of today over 365k people have signed up and have purchased a plan.

Over 800k are now eligible for medicaid.

1.9 million have signed up but haven't chosen a plan yet.

These numbers are lower than expected, but as they continue to make improvements to the website this number will skyrocket.

I heard a guy call a talk radio show yesterday and apologize saying that he got a better plan for a lot less money thanks to Obamacare.

I wonder,
How many of the 1.9 that have signed up, but haven't pick a plan, didn't, because they realized they couldn't afford it? Or could get no subsidy?
Signing up, without getting product, really doesn't mean anything.

Right now it is hard to say how it will go. The only way that Obamacare will or will not be a success, is if they can get a lot of people to sign up. If they can get the numbers on their side, then yes, it will be a good thing.

But, and this is the real test, is what happens if they can not get the numbers required? What then? And there are still problems with the website, namely at the back end, and this is just the start of the issues. If the people signing up are not getting covered in a timely manor, this is going to play badly.

It is not the initial numbers that we should look at, but those that come out in May. If the numbers are still low, the entire Obamacare will start to crack and fracture. If the numbers are good or even far exceeding expectations, then it will survive.

I somehow feel these numbers are a crockery.
Nothing til now has panned out. Why start now?

These figures reflect people who have selected an insurance plan, but not all have paid their first month's premium, which activates the coverage. An additional 1.94 million people have been determined eligible to enroll, but have not yet picked a policy.

They haven't paid, as there is no method to pay.

Counting the chickens before they hatch are we???

Officials say they think 90% of transaction forms are accurate, but are still working with insurers to match applicants records.

And the fact that they can't confirm accuracy is too funny as well.

I get that you and several others here love you some 0bama, but the simple fact is the whole law is a complete and udder disgrace and failure.
There are rules being changes to accommodate certain businesses, politicians, unions and the coming election cycle.
There is selective enforcement of some things.
The website is about the biggest technology flop to grace the people in the US.
The amount paid for the flop is what, 10 times what is should have cost, and it doesn't work and is lacking in many common standards within the IT world, like security.
The amount of people that are having costs increase (Double and triple) far exceed those that are having their cost reduced due to their coverage offset by tax payer funded handouts.
Coverage is being dropped from millions of people.
People are forced into policies they don't want or need.

And the list goes on and on.

So, yeah. Hurray 0bamacare.

I SnF'd you because these numbers need to be talked about.

I'm curious though.

4.8 million have lost their plans. Another 80 million are anticipated to lose their plans (employer mandate)

If we're only looking at people who have signed up due to their plans being lost (and not because ACA is better than their existing plan) then there is still a sharp deficit.

The lions share who are signing up (besides exposing all their personal info to even the most casual hacker) are people who need cheap insurance paid for by the folks who are not signing up on the site (the young invulnerables).

But hey, someone is going to pay through the nose for it, right?

I actually just found out moments ago that in order to be added to my husband’s insurance (which is the route I thought I was going to be able to go) it is going to cost me $900 per month, and the insurance is awful. It doesn’t cover my treatments, and I have to pay $5k out of pocket before any co-insurance even picks up! We simply can not afford $900 per month for my health care alone.

There's bad information too.

People shopping for insurance on the federal marketplace may be informed they're eligible for Medicaid and that their information is being sent to state officials to sign them up. However, states aren't able enroll them because they're not receiving usable data from the Obama administration.

The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services wrote a memo to the 36 states using the federal website last week acknowledging the information wasn't being transferred automatically and saying another system was being developed to send it. More complete files could be sent as soon as next week.

Federal website gives unusable Medicaid data

Possible "coverage" gaps and notches.

A whole bunch of mis-understandings.

People will *Think* they have something and then...

T-H-U-D and D-U-D !!

The Glorious Socialist Utopia of Next Tuesday demands Sacrifice!

You can't make a Marxist omelet without breaking a few eggs.

Meet one of those eggs, Bill Elliott:

After Bill Elliott’s $150 per month healthcare plan was canceled as a result of Obama’s Affordable Care Act (also known as Obamacare), he found himself unable to afford the new $,1500.00 per month premium costs and higher deductible that are a result of the new regulations under Obamacare.

Cancer Patient Who Lost Policy Can’t Afford New Obamacare Policy, Will Just Die

Remember, Komrades: Your sacrifice is for the Greater Good! The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. Namely, your individual needs.

How important is it to ensure Ivy-League law students have access to unlimited birth control and abortion-inducing pharmaceuticals?

Like I said, no broken eggs, no omlette!

Meet 7-year-old cancer patient Hunter Alford:

“I called again, and then I was told he could expedite it,” she explained. “But then, I called back the next day, and the next, and, finally, the lady told me the only way to expedite it is if my son was pregnant and in labor or an illegal.”

Boy with cancer loses coverage after Obamacare launch

Aren't we all very fortunate that the government knows how best to make decisions for us?

I mean, we couldn't possibly be trusted to choose what is best for ourselves, am I right Komrades?

And not forget that those that are purchasing insurance are mostly those that were dumped from their insurance to begin with, in order for insurance to charge more.

Still the difference between those that now are qualifying for Medicaid to those that are buying insurance is not looking good.

Shall we meet yet another Obamacare Statistic?

Meet Edie Littlefield Sundby, stage IV cancer survivor:

Greta Van Susteren and Brit Hume brought her story to the attention of the boot-licking hacks at the New York Times who claimed that President Pants on Fire “clearly misspoke” when he said you could keep your plan. No biggie.

Despicable: WH smears cancer survivor who lost her insurance plan due to Obamacare

Who says leftists don't advocate a proper education? This lady has received a crash course in Alinksy's Rule for Radicals.

Remember: Elderly who no longer contribute to the public coffers = Useless Eater.

Let that be a lesson for you.

The name of that lesson is: Logan's Run - Fanciful science fiction, or a great way to prune the proletariat to manageable numbers?

ok...1st, the woman's story, if you read it, says that she hasn't been able to sign onto the website... it said she called "other insurance companies" and they gave her quotes....she has NOT CONTACTED the website or called the helpline...2nd, we don't know what her income is, and 3rd, we don't know what subsidy she might receive.....
this is all important information....and it is (shocker!!) left out of the Hannity report....rolls eyes

Lets not forget about employers that are cutting hours to avoid Obamacare.

My friend worked in walmart in electronics for three years. Went from 27 hours a week to less then 15.....they hired 3 more people for the department.

He complained and got told to pick up more jobs.....he told them to shove it in there rear so to speak.

McDonald's is another one that is hiring dozens of people and giving them no hours. They even are going without a maintenance person here because of the costs of health insurance.....mandatory for full timers.

I dont care what anyone says, when you force people to pay for # they are going to go around the issues at hand. Cheating the system, loopholes that kinda thing.

They are trying to get minimum from 7 to 15........that will NEVER happen with Obamacare.

I say give people jobs with good hours and leave benefits optional. Why should i be paying outrageous amounts of money when im perfectly healthy.......maybe in twenty years ill need it. I can BUY the insurance myself when the that time comes.

Canada and the UK have true universal healthcare......why the hell cant we?

Thank corporate America, greedy Pfizer and the likes.

So you are saying she deserved to lose her insurance, and be forced to pay $900 a month with a $5k deductible, for the greater good?

She is an Obamacare Statistic.

Hey, as long as Sandra Fluk is provided with abortion pills on demand, it's worth it, right?

They will be doing all the work to deal with the .gov site...."as soon as it is up and running properly".
