I'm New But Old With A Very Interesting Story

I have been on here a long time I just don't post much. The reason I am making this thread is because it is very strange what I saw on my way home from work tonight. I live in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Earlier in the day I went to Mitchellville, Iowa and there was a very large military convoy heading towards Fort Dodge which would seem regular. I am a former Marine that did two tours in Afghanistan. So things don't surprise me much. However tonight on my way home I saw a very low very bright light moving FAST!!!! It wasn't blinking white and red like most helicopters and planes do. Then out of nowhere two planes came screaming out of the sky with the traditional flashing red and white lights chasing after it. They eventually diverted and went separate directions. Then I got home and was standing on my porch watching it and it just stopped and started hovering maybe 20 miles out then at the bottom it still had the very bright white light but the top started to pulse red and blue and it just hovered there. I eventually went inside then when back out to smoke and curious if it was still there which it wasn't. There was however one plane coming from the direction that thing was in headed towards Omaha and there were three other planes in formation coming from the Omaha direction flying in formation towards where it was hovering. Now there is a Airport here but the planes were no where near it, and there is a national guard base which Black Hawks and Chinooks fly over regularly however these were not normal routines that I saw today. I just want to know if there is anyone in the area that saw the similar thing I have. I tried recording a video but with all the city lights its very hard to see but is visible at times which I will upload soon. I AM SORRY FOR THE WALL OF TEXT. I just need to get this out quick because this is very strange, and being a former Marine it takes a lot to surprise me.

It's a big shame you didn't have the ability to get a photograph or video of this object, or series of events. That would certainly have been spectacular.

I do have a video of it but it was dark and with the city lights it just looks like a star and you can see the planes behind due to the dark. I really hope someone on here lives in the area and saw the same thing.

Sounds like you were introduced to top secret military (UFO's) craft after leaving the service as opposed to during.

It's amazing what those nifty undisclosed military craft can do. Shame you didn't catch on video, would have loved to have seen it.

Yea, I really do to it seems the planes that were involved were coming from and going to Offut Air Force Base in Omaha but who really knows all I know it was very strange.

I do have one question about these kind of 'air-crafty'
type sightings though. Why do alien craft use blinky
lights of the same type and colors as human aircraft?

And lets say that the blinky lights are slightly different..
say all blinking red, rather than purely a 'standard'
arrangement for an aircraft... it's still the same question.

Why would alien UFOs with super advanced technology
that brings them from the stars have all these blinky
lights? That's what I'm always wondering. Wouldn't
they do fine with a 'view screen' and 'sensors' and
not need all those blinky lights? I mean, they don't
necessarily even have eyes that see in the human
light spectrum -- or eyes at all.. but it seems there
are always all these blinky lights.. nearly every
single time..

Just a question.

Whenever I see a post like this - I think of surviellance drones.

Does anyone know what kind of drones the military is flying over the US? What size? And, if the drone locks into something on the ground, do they send planes, or helicopters to check things out further? Just asking...

I've seen something like this before. Scotland/week ago. High speed light, left a bit of a light trail as it slowed then disappeared.

Nowadays with the drone technology being the way it's, I'm not sure what anybody is seeing when they see something strange. I know our military has always experimented, but our technology is so much better than it was 60 years ago.

Like one person here said, why would alien UFOs need blinking lights? For that matter, why would aliens hang around making a show and not talk to us?

I believe someday we'll not only know about intelligent ET's but we'll hold pieces of their civilization in our hands. Perhaps the ET hysteria nowadays is a pre-cursor just like how that astronomer imagined seeing aliens and river canals on Mars. I believe there're other planets out there with river canals and probably planets with river canals AND intelligent ET's. We humans imagine it all before we finally get to see it. It's our nature. We play with it before we confront it in the flesh.

Simple... Since they either do not have eyes, or do but not in the same spectrum, they do not realize that their propulsion system gives off light that is visible to our eyes.

Or... Going with the military craft theory... They are still in the process of testing a new craft, and the lights are there so they will be visible to their airplane/jet escorts. The fighter jets are not there to "chase" or anything like that, they are there to monitor, and also, if something goes wrong and it crashes or begins to malfunction in a populated area, they will destroy it, and radio for a cleanup crew before it even hits the ground. The reason for different colored lights could be to signal different things to the guys in the planes. White light could be all is well. Blinking red could mean they are ready to move onto the next phase of this particular testing mission, or ready to return home. Etc.Why not use radio? Simple. The craft will have such a powerful electromagnetic field (or something) that it does not allow any radio waves to escape its pull. Or it does, but as the radio waves would pass through the hull of the craft or whatever fields surround it, the radio waves are corrupted or scrambled somehow... So colored lights were a simple way to communicate simple important messages, like "return to base" "all is well", or "mayday! mayday! We are going down!"

Or they just like to mess with us. Or the lights make it impossible to get a clear photograph of the shape of the craft itself. Kind of blinding the camera so all it sees is a blurry light. Sure, it ATTRACTS more attention, but as long as it cannot be clearly identified, who cares? People will just argue on the internet about it.
