Hi All..long time not Posting, Maybe this question make some of us cuirous..i am for example,then i search the web..and find it on youtube..

well, this comet, i am sure make all of you wondering to make us surprise, and i believe Ison will make it!

I am not sure if it could be cataclysmic if the comet was enormous enough though. I would think the sun could take a whole lot of punishment before suffering any damage.

Oh Cheesy...nothing will happen with ISON. If anything, ISON will get to the Sun and show off a big tail. The most exciting event, will be if ISON gets sucked into the Sun's Corona and gets annihilated.
What is up with you and this freaking comet? Nothing will happen here on Earth, unless you man one of the powerful telescopes. But there is nothing in Indonesia that is going on, in respects to Astrology or telescopes.

Not a whole lot actually. C/2012 S1 will just be gone.

Even if it were to somehow make the sun produce a CME (doubtful), it would be from a side of the sun not facing us at that time.

Now if you're hoping to see ISON after it grazes the sun (as that is when we will see it better), then yes, it would be sad for it to not survive. So let us hope that it makes it around the sun okay.

I want to get some decent pictures of it.

if ison hits the sun, game over.

for ison.

if it doesn't, i hope i can see it when it comes back round.

Good question cheesy, more than likely just a good light show for soho. I for one hope it makes the pass.

I saw a video years ago where the Sun shot out multiple CME's at a comet nocking it away from the sun. When I first saw the video I thought "wow, our sun has a consciousness".

I think that if ISON hitting the sun would be too destructive to the sun or earth that the sun would defend itself or us. Just my opinion of course.

Ill see if i can find that video. It was posted on ATS way back.

I say you are looking at a comet diving towards the sun and an unrelated Coronal Mass Ejection, just like the description of the video says.......
