Interestingly, the article goes on to say,

Male guppies are able to reproduce for at least 10 months after they die

THis article is from June, but I have not heard of it until now.
I was browsing for information regarding a photo I have of the Pregnant Guppy and Super Guppy 1st flight.
That is when I found the article and was amazed at this discovery.

To reproduce for minimum 10 months after death sounds like something out of Zombie Apocalypse.
Some of the creatures of this world are bizarre n many way; Looks, Habits, Mating Rituals, etc...
But this is pretty much the opposite of how things work.
I wonder if there will be technology created from experimenting with these dead guppies?

Well shoot, I was so looking forward to some zombie guppies running around impregnating other guppies.

Such a big letdown.

It's an interesting article, thank you.

The fishes sperm survives inside the female for upto two generations, not the dead fish reproducing really but sort of I guess.

Big letdown here too. "Long-term sperm storage" in females is wayyy different than zombie rapists.

...Good catch tho.
