not only antiamericans, but all leftists, pacifists and something like that.I saw something very common,it repeats always after any operation conducted by US forces.

First of all they belive in miracle. They read all these funny sites like islam.cc (or something like that),jihadunspun.com etc etc. They shout "HA!!! Now US forces wil be defeated".They read all this faked relations from these sites about excellent performance of enemy forcesThey are happy when even when one marine dies and they really belive that it is an ultimate end of USA
))They belive that (for example in Fallujah) there are thousands of insurgents and they all figting to the death.

This was the first phase.

The second phase is something connected with silence or disappointment. The see that there was no miracle. That nothing unusuall happened.Like usually US won, enemy lost.

Then they get to the third phase. The last one.

All enemy forces are changed from brave insurgents to the old, women and children. These people in one moment forget about thousands of armed men who fight with "US occupants,US invaders" etc about they were telling and reading few days ago.At this very moment all these brave insurgents are converted to poor little civilians killed by awful US invaders.

They are so poor and so innocent. They even can't fight!! How US marines could harm them.

gee, such generalizations........
I'm kind of confused, ya see, sometimes, I lean to the right, and then sometimes I find myself leaning to the left. I've voted for Carter, then Reagan......I voted for Clinton, but chose not to vote for Gore.....then this last election, voted libertarian mainly out of disgust with both parties. Seems to depend on just what the issues are at the time. So, well, I kind of think that there's alot of people out there who aren't too loyal to any party speaking out about their misgivens on the Bush Administration.
We aren't hoping the US will fail.....we're scared that it will!!!
My ancestors have fought in just about every war this country has fought in since the Revolution, they spoke up for the rights of the slaves, helped with the underground railroad. They have rubbed elbows with the likes of Susan B. Anthony!!!
And because I have misgivens about an administration that seems intent on disrupting the balance of power built into our country, is pushing through legislation that would require every child and probably adult to undergo mental health screening and medication (even though this program seems to be under scrutiny in TX, where foster kids have been discovered to be overy medicated....(some taken over ten different medications)....and there's revelations abounding about the dangers of some of these drugs. And, oh ya, I highly resent the idea of The Christian Religion being merged with my government, ya see, there's a little quirk in that religion, that if I were to accept it, would interfere with my relationship to that God anyways!!
We'll...I'm antiamerican, traitorist, ect. ect.......
Looking at it logically, well, I highly doubt if close to half of this population is either antiamerican, or traitorist.....they just disagree with the policies that Bush seems to have put into practice....seems there's alot in his administration, in the cia, ect, who don't either.

For your information, I'm glad we went into Afghanistan, it was hell on earth!! Iraq was it's own hell, but it was a different enemy there, so now we've got two enemies!! And, well, over 20 our our troops were killed, so obviously, someone there was able to shoot a gun. And, well, we haven't won yet!!!

But, well, why did we have to devert troop from Fallugah to other parts of Iraq...oh ya, Bush chose to ignore the advice of some other "anti-americans" that more troops were needed to begin with!!! Just like he seems to being ignoring alot of advice that just doesn't jive with his veiw of the world!

I'm reallly getting sick of the "antiamerican" label, to me, it is antiamerican to insuate that close to half of the population is, and then commence to disenfranchise them and alienate them from the gov't.

I didn't say "only antiamericans" but leftists, pacifists, communists, some radical people from the rigtht wing etc.

besides if you don't think that US is just devil's land like many communists and leftists (etc) this post wasn't about you. It's just simple.

I don't think about anyone who don't support Bush policy.I mean about many people all around the world whose parents demontrated against Regan, who think that not bin laden but Bush is the most horrible terrorist in the world.

if you dont wish US death,if you don't think other things I have described, this is simpy not about you.

I think that you people have a strange way of thinking... And, sorry, especially you blodstone... Pleas don't take this personally, I just want to criticize in a good way. Please realize that this kind of statement like "you're against us or with us" is exactly the kind that leads to wars... This leaves no place for neutrality...

I don't think that you cannot stand in between as you say. If I can summarize what I think in a few words, here it is: I was pro the war against Saddam, I was against the way it has been presented. I was in agreement with the way it was done though, until Saddam was caught. I think that Irak now should be left alone... Even if they go back to dictatorship and so on. It is now their fate to decide, now that the previous dictator has been defeated. If you compare this situation now in Irak with history, it is actually a kind of colonization that's taking place. I don't like Bush because of my political ideas, I have nothing against the people who like him. They simply have other ideas. I am definitely not anti american, that is racism. But there is a huge difference between blindly "hate" people in general and disagree with a country's politics...

And I think the way some people reacted was biased by media stuff... Remember those people in US pouring french wine in the sewers? The "freedom fries"? Ain't that stupid? They were lead to believe, because of how the media treated the thing, that people here in Europe were from then on hating America and its people... It was simply not true. There were also in the US people who were definitely and firmly against that war, and they were still good Americans...

There is actually a place in between, and I am not, and never will be as such, with you or without you. I am not an American. I can sometimes agree, and sometimes disagree. And again, the difference is to be made between what the leader says (the president, king, whoever), and what the people think. It is not necessarily always the same. Add to that the fact that you can really be good friend with somebody having a different religion, a different political orientation and also a different sexual orientation all together. This doesn't imply that you must be ennemies. Knowledge and improvements come from differences, staying enclosed in a well delimited way of thinking, without accepting differences or sometimes without even knowing them, is never a way of improving. Deny ignorance!

And by the way, it is a very common misunderstanding but... those who are called "liberals" in US and CDN are actually socialists and generally speaking leftists in US, and the liberals in Europe are actually the right side of politics. It is only a different interpretation of the word.

Regards all.

I really dislike this deliberate mislabeling of anyone who disagrees with US actions or policies. I found this quote once, that I think pegs just exactly how I feel.

Q. Why do liberals like you, Al Franken, hate America?

A. Liberals like me love America. We just love America in a different way. You love America like a 4-year-old loves his mommy. Liberals love America like grown-ups. To a 4-year-old, everything Mommy does is wonderful and anyone who criticizes Mommy is bad. Grown-up love means actually understanding what you love, taking the good with the bad and helping your loved one grow. Love takes attention and work and is the best thing in the world. That's why we liberals want America to do the right thing. We know America is the hope of the world, and we love it and want it to do well. We also want it to do good.

Why is it that the right always assumes the left is completely against the War on Terror? What most of us are against is the WAY it's being fought.

Saddam was but a minor player on the terrorist front. Heck, there are MORE terrorists in Iraq now than there were BEFORE the invasion! This is in large part due to the preoccupation of securing oil facilities before securing the border.

Those of us on the left are wondering why we bothered with Iraq, while our "leader" is buddy buddy with the LARGEST financial supporter of World-Wide terror...the Saudis...

I'm all for wiping out every fanatic who thinks he's in some holy war to rid those not of his faith....but inviting them into an urban warfare setting (by not securing the borders) to frolic at will (as we did in Iraq), was NOT the best idea, as many innocents will be collateral damage...despite our almost crippling efforts at precision.

A War on Terror is more about cutting off their finances and organization leaders, destroying their communication lines and methods, etc. It's not one you can win with military might. It's like fighting a hydra with a sword. Sure, you may cut a head off, but two more grow back in it's place.

Very nicely said, and I think it matches my feelings... I like very much the comparison:

To a 4-year-old, everything Mommy does is wonderful and anyone who criticizes Mommy is bad.

(that would be implying that such opinions are out of childish minds!

Im going to make this simple:

Fact: America is an amazing place, the greatest country on the planet.
Fact: Sometimes the current President has suspect policy, it happens.
Fact: No US President can stay in office for more than 8 years
Fact: Every country on the planet has some suspect and corrupt leadership, at least the US has the ability to purge it once and awhile.
Fact: We are free. How many Arab countries allow its own citizens to critisize the governement?
Fact: I live free of fear and torment from my government. I can leave my home when I want to and do what i please. No questions asked.
Fact: My government could care less what religious faith was, including Muslim, or none at all.
Fact: 99.9% of the time me and my family are safe from harm or crime
Fact: So long as they go through the proper channels, anybody in the world can live here and enjoy our fruits...and often do.

I can go on for pages and pages and pages. Bottom line is there are some crappy things going on right now for sure. But in the end I will always be a proud American. No matter what. Because I live in a great country with a style of government that works in the long run. Sometimes our government needs a good disinfecting from time to time, but we have the tools built in to do it.

You anti Americans can just wollow in you hatred for us, ill be enjoying my secure and healthy life in the mean time....

And for you anti Americans who actually live in America: Never ever forget if you were saying such things in most any other country you would be dead by now...

You Americans are only repeating what you have always done best:

Stealing is easier than doing the work.

For all your rhetoric saying that America is incorrupt, you are the first to go after the easy economic benefits of stealing other people's land and property.

You are correct in your observation that Anti-American sentiments are expressed during or following a new military operation but you've drawn the wrong conclusion about why that is.

It's not because people are upset that the US was not defeated, it is because of the death and destruction caused by that operation and the reports of the US blocking aid from being delivered, securing hospitals and shutting off water and electricity for entire cities to make life even worse for those persons in places like Fallujah.

When you see someone kicking a dog, you don't get mad because the dog didn't bite back.
You get mad because the dog was kicked in the first place.
