ok so he had what looked to be a deadly weapon.

until he began shooting that deadly weapon, nothing should have happened except verbal communication.

had he began firing that weapon, police would have had an immediate answer as to their suspicions (bb-gun), and possible justification to a RESPONSE. such was not the case. they responded to something that COULD have happened.

we have to decide who's life is priority in these types of situations.

of the two parties involved, which of the two is a voluntary servant and whihc is an involuntary member of the public? the answer is obvious.

only one of the two parties can change their role. therefore that party should be prioritized LAST. in ANY AND ALL CASES.

MAYBE he had an AK-47.
MAYBE it was a toy and the orange tip fell off.
MAYBE the child was mentally incompetent and thought what he had was a garden hose.
MAYBE due to light conditions the orange tip could not be seen.
MAYBE he was Al-queda.
MAYBE he was playing a role in a motion picture.

MAYBE MAYBE MAYBE

all of these MAYBE's should have been answered PRIOR to SHOOTING. such is the role of a PEACE officer.

catch the drift?

THANK YOU, from the bottom of my heart.
Its a really simple point that seems to be flying right over the heads of those that are defending this.
A point I have tried repeatedly to make, a point that a few on this thread FLATLY REFUSE to see.

You know times are bad when non officers understand the law better than those enforcing it.

Oh, you think I am being dramatic. Thats cute.

The more adept here know I am truthfully serious.

Even our LEO knows how damn serious I am.

Funnily enough I am lime that 1% who doesn't give a DAMN what you think.

And I don't care who you are

I am "that dude" who is a "homegrown terrorist". Believe it or not but I am dead damn serious

Shhhh

Don't want to be riding in that boxcar

Be scared be very scared!!

Courage is overcoming those fears, and a good person will sacrifice himself for the good of the many. A role which the police officers are supposed to be filling.

If I had to choose between Jay and yourself I know what side Id be choosing. I need to know I can trust the guy thats got my back, and that hes not too busy wetting himself with fear of doing whats right.

Peace officers don't exist anymore

As a teen in the 80's we almost got done in by cops a few times and this is Canada!

Given that the defense to these shootings are that police need to be in immediate fear of any citizen with what appears to be a firearm and be ready to use deadly force, I have to suspect that these officers would not set foot upon a public gun range, gun store or and lodge with hunters.

I am late to post here, though I caught the story yesterday.

I can only imagine back in the day when I grew up in a neighborhood filled with thousands of large families, and having 5 brothers and sisters playing outside during the summer and after school every day, rain or shine.

My family, friends and I played with army toy soldiers, GI Joe and had all sorts of plastic toy guns, rifles and pistols.

We had a cool plastic machine gun that was battery powered to make it sound like it was firing, though not realistic to a real machine gun sound, and I mounted it on my brothers stroller and would push him on the sidewalk around the neighborhood. He wore a Snoopy type hat that Snoopy wore when he pretended he was the Flying Ace. My brother also wore goggles (keep in mind, he is only around 2 to 4 years old) with his flying ace outfit.

I step back in time, then forward the DECAY of our AMERICA today! Also keep in mind, our neighborhood and city and region consisted of mainly Kennedy Democrats that were more conservative than 98% of the Republicans today.
We had more Churches and Bars per Capita of any City in the Country at that time. The city had a population of over 55,000 people.

We as kids, looked up to the Police, Firemen, Astronauts, Farmers, Army/Navy Men and the workers that build the Huge metal works of engineering donning big chrome bumpers. Also the men wearing hard hats constructing large and small buildings, bridges and such. Even MAILMEN! Yes, we thought that was cool when Mr. B would walk through the neighborhood and walk up to the front porch, concrete steps, to our concrete slab porch with black metal railings and overhang that kept the mid day sun from heating up the smooth concrete. I can hear the metal lid being opened and shut after he filled it with mail.

Back to my point.

I Shudder to Think what would have happened to my baby brother (2 year old) while I (a 6 year old) was pushing him in a stroller with the plastic machine gun around the neighborhood if it was today?, or my friends and I playing Army, which we would be running all around the neighborhood making the gun shot sounds with our voices and having the time of our lives!

America.... What Happened? Why Did You Allow The Government To Turn us into THE ENEMY?!!!!

The Blood is on Your Hands Now!

We have not evolved as human beings, we have been going backwards because people CHOOSE TO DO SO!

I STAND for something and will always do the right thing no matter what so help me God!

Okay, you can go back to watching M Cyrus, E News, MSNBC, Kardashians, ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, ..... sorry to waist your time.

The chances of killing with an airsoft gun are very small.
Im not pissed with any one person, Im pissed with the whole situation, the situation is such a mess, Im more pissed that we have come to this. And Im more pissed that I cannot understand how some people cannot see how bad a situation this is.
The fact is that "what ifs" can be debated as long as we can imagine them, but when a child gets executed for the crime of not doing what he was told to do in the very short time he was given to "comply" by a trigger happy police officer, its then really time to start demanding answers.

Thank you for your opinion. You have no idea evidently.
This gun problem has exploded since progressives took over SSRIs and other pharmacopia have been abused and the fact of gun ownership came under attack. Since you are effectively hypnotized by media.I wouldn't presume to talk you down but this is the identity of America. If we stop America dies all all of YOU with it .
Don't believe me ? That's your problem .

I have been thinking similar thoughts from my childhood. Times have really changed and it is not due to hoards of kids blowing away people all over every town (even a few) in America.

Zero tolerance, blah, blah, blah. I can think of some in a uniform that need some tolerance though.

At near pointblank range in the eye, wouldnt an old school knife or sword or heck, even a steel bar (heck actually battering them with the airsoft gun instead) be more reliable?

Hardly the point, cops are so scared of being shot at they would take cautionary measures against likely threats.

Sadly i see it more likely airsoft and paintball guns being banned before real guns, so you know, you can easily know if a gun is a real gun. But attempted to ban them all anyway if you want, theres only 270 million legally own guns and anyones guess at how many illegal.

Why dont cops where better protection, like Judge Dread style body armor?
Seems like if you hold a gun yourself, shouldnt you before sure the guy you are pointing it at, has a real one too before you shoot?

This is probably why Holder wants all police to be militarized SWAT. They can drive around in fortified vehicles but it won't change the carnage, at least it don't think it will.

Judge Dredd style "cops" with real time video streaming to the masses so we can vote on their actions to take

87 percent vote to shoot!

Ah the Romans had it all figured long ago
