Groom makes bomb threat on own wedding

What better way to start off a wedding than to call in a bomb threat...well, almost a wedding.

LONDON — A forgetful British bridegroom who made a hoax bomb threat rather than admit he’d neglected to book the venue for his wedding was sentenced Tuesday to a year in jail.

Neil McArdle called Liverpool’s St. George’s Hall from a phone booth on his scheduled wedding day in April, claiming a bomb was due to go off in 45 minutes.

His fiancee, Amy Williams, was left standing in the street in her wedding gown while the building was evacuated.

Forgot to fill out the paperwork? Suuurrre he did.

More likely he got cold feet and wanted to make a run for it. He could have just told her he changed his mind. Either way justice or karma caught up with him.

Thats what i was thinking when i saw this on the news here, She must be some nasty fiance to need to call in a hoax bomb instead of tell the truth.
Tho i would not want to tell any woman i had messed up her big day!

Guess he has time to write her a lot of apologies, 12 months in the big house!

prolly cheaper than a divorce in the long run

Williams has stood by the defendant, the court heard, and they are still together.

Well...one good thing (that perhaps) came out of all of this...his former (wife to be) now knows what an absolute idiot! he is...if she still chooses to marry him after he gets out of prison...well then...I guess 2 stupid people found each other.

Bet this guy wishes he had of thought of a bomb threat
