I have a thread up but can't get the PDF link to work. My edit time is about to run out.

How can I get it to post? The link is in my e-mail so I'm the only one the link is working for.

Download the image to your computer. Upload it to ATS.

It's not an image file. It's a PDF document. The upload feature won't let me upload anything but images.

I think it's time to panic.
Sorry. You could just link the PDF in the thread.

It doesn't work. It takes them to my mail because that's where the link is... in my mail. Then they get a 401 error.

Can you upload the PDF to a file hosting site then link to that ?

Depending on the number of pages, you could take screen shots of what you want to link, paste them into paint and save them as an image file - from there you can upload them to ATS or another photo hosting site and link from there.

Alternatively you may be able to use something like google docs to host it.

Your email may have a cloud feature that allows you to upload to a publicly viewable place.

EDIT: also if you run out of edit time, you could always ask a mod nicely to edit your post for you once you have a link working. They arnt made of stone you know

I just did this, but it says "access denied" when the members click on it.

You have to upload it somewhere that the public has access to. We can't access your personal password protected storage or email.

If you have a gmail account, upload the PDF to googledrive (you wont need to sign up to googledrive separately).

You will be able to make the file publicly viewable from there

I'm not understanding the problem perhaps, but it seems to me that a file you link to through an email nevertheless has a URL. Can you tell me why you can't just copy and paste that URL into a post and have it work?

I have no idea why it won't work. I've tried everything.

I have someone working on the problem for me from the thread.

Thanks to all for your advice.

Can you post the link here so we can see if there is a formatting error happening with the link?
