What is a MARK?

For though thou wash thee with nitre, and take thee much soap, yet thine iniquity is marked before me, saith the Lord God.

For who hath stood in the counsel of the Lord, and hath perceived and heard his word? who hath marked his word, and heard it?

And the Lord said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house.

Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,

And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Seems obvious???

the more vociferous you are, the more I am assured in my belief that the mark of the beast is a simple ink tattoo, and that the empowerment one feels from their ink isn't necessarily a good thing.

Belief,Opinion That there is ya right fella to believe what you want BUT.

I think you're missing something here. I mean i think here in the western world we are a tad later on marking skin with ink. Think about it lots of cultures around the world have marked their skin in some way to appease the gods. I sort of see were you are going with this BUT just from you're flame away comment says you're just after a rant.....

but was I wrong? nothing but "you're wrong" coming my way. and personal attacks too, nothing really tangible. even been compared to a movie character! but I haven't heard anything worth listening to besides your post and the joke about smartphones.

Jesus loved sinners, hung out with them instead of shunning them.

But whoa to the Zealots, they kinda remind me of Sadducee or the Pharisees always knowing what is best for "their" people.

I wonder if he would hang out at Tattoo places? I kinda think he would.

Although I'm not sure on your theory on what forms its here in, I still think the mark of the beast is here one way or another. Starts with the birth certificate.

The most basic thing of the mark of the beast hasn't been adhered to in your theory, I could still order goods from Amazon without a tattoo! really don't want to quote revelations but everyone who's read the passage will know it's something to do with either;

A)An RFID chip
B)or an account number
Or both

I almost feel degraded commenting on this...

I feel like everyone has covered the bases, but...

- The mark of the beast is to be applied forecefully to the forehead or hand.
- Anyone without the mark will be unable to operate in society
- Tattoos are adequately mentioned in the bible, and not referred to in any way as pertaining to the mark.

You want to talk about the mark, start looking at 'human-embedded computer chips'. Soon all of your credit cards, bank accounts, social, phone, address, etc will all be stored in a chip that they bury in your hand. It wont take long for that to turn into the only way to pay for something. If I were the type to buy into prophecy fully, I might say that that change is the closest in our future the consider for the possibility.

And all this time I thought the beast was the christian religion. Boy is my face red.

All joking aside, seriously? Mark of the beast? You really buy into that nonsense?

Time and time again throughout history it has been proven that:
-Jesus is not coming back, at least not literally.
-All end-time prophecies are found lacking at go time.
-This is a fearmongering tool to bolster church attendence, and is the only reason the Jehovah's witnesses didn't fail within the first three years.
-Even if it were true, the funny thing about prophecies believed by two billion people is that they would block any forward progress to the f***ing destruction of the world. (E.g. the mark of the beast)

Long story short, life's too short to worry about the end of the world. Enjoy it while it lasts. You only get one ... or a few, depending on what you believe.

LOL.

So did you begin this thread for the sole purpose of pissing off the masses?

I think it's hilarious. I don't have tats but I don't believe in god, satan, heaven or hell.

Most religions are hypocritical and the people who believe in god are judgmental sinners.

well duh. why would the mark of the beast apply to anyone who doesn't believe in that paradigm?

Because a fleet is only as fast as its slowest ships. Our slowest ships are under the influence of the narrative that you mention in your OP; so you are too.

You'll take the mark with the rest of us, and it is not a tattoo.

Have a nice day.

That's because you brought a ludacris theory to the table. It's not that your "wrong" your just WRONG! The smartphone comment at least reflects SOME TRUTH!

Your baseless theory is flawed. It's a joke of a Troll. So do you really expect responders to take this seriously???

I'm in awe you actually received a flag for this. Someone on this board has a sense of humor!

excellent. its so simple but I never thought of it til I read your post- the Jews put a mark of blood on their door so that the angels killing all the 1stborn sons would know not to stop there. I guess a "mark" is all in the eye of the beholder. or swordholder.

I know hundreds of "black" people- as you so eloquently put it-

By the tone of your text you're implying sarcasm. I wasn't. You clearly stated "white" for some reason. I merely asked about black ones.

...and I haven't seen tattoos to be as big a part of their culture as in other cultures. Asians have tattooed for thousands of years, totally separate from the Christian doctrine of the mark of the beast.

I certainly agree *some* Asian people like tattoos but I believe it's mostly mainstream media publicising asian gang culture. Not every Asian is in a gang, so far as I know..

But you obviously are not up to speed with "black" people and "their" "culture". "Tatts" are a very important "Part" of their "culture" as a means to identify, distinguish and "belong".

(gosh, using quotes is fun)

tell me one person who doesn't think their tats make them "cool".

My husband. He was in the Navy, young and drunk. Now regretful. LOL (has a pretty bad pirate tattoo that covers up a really bad naked lady tattoo.)
I thought the "mark" would be forced? Most people get them voluntarily or, at least, voluntarily when drunk. I'm too much of a wuss for one, so I guess I'm a-okay.

thank you for this post of reason. I will admit Im not a Christian so I can play around with the concept of mark of the beast and it won't affect me one way or another. but I can agitate the pot very easily because people take their tattoos so personally, like their cars, their haristyles, their beliefs, their fleeting emotions......
personally I do not believe there is a "mark". to me, being born- just having a body in the 1st place- is the "mark".

the mark of the beast is ________ (fill in the blank). I chose "tattoo" because it is something people which make the personal choice to have, often when drunk. what do yours say?
