You mean jobs on the strip, not strip dancing/pole dancing right? Because if was the later I would assume it would be fairly easy to get a job as a stripper in Vegas if you're hot and can dance.

Hi fissionsurplus, havent seen you around for a while!
Its the same here in the uk. Over here employment agencies are responsible for about 90% of the advertised jobs, and MOST of them are bogus. When I was out of work and visiting the jobcenter I was asked several times to apply for jobs. I asked them whats the point of applying for a job that doesnt exist? Each time the adviser sat back in their chair speechless. I'd then get them to list up the jobs on their pc and I'd show them the phone numbers were the same for nearly every job advertised, I'd then tell them to search for the last two months and sure enough the same phone numbers came up time and again.
This is a real problem for the unemployed, not just because it wastes their time, but also because it makes everyone believe there's plenty of jobs, so if you havent got one, it must be because your not trying hard enough.

Again, it's west Texas, Furry! If people know you around here, and you're a good worker, you'll never be without a job. However....try being a newbie to the area, as I am. Not a member of any of the Christian churches around here. No network of people that have known me since I was a kid. I'm chipping away at a stone wall. I don't give up easily, however. Perhaps if I can claim a long lineage of Texas heritage back to the Alamo....but no, I'm a "Left Coast Side Transplant". From California, no less! With parents who were "foreigners". The horror!

You've touched on another issue......the ever-lowering wages while they want a superstar who can shoulder twice the workload and survive on a piss-poor salary.

in his field (IT), it appears that a lot of these are phantom jobs which don't exist....or if they do, as you said, the pay is pretty darned low.
