I just kept hitting refresh like Homer Simpson until it came back online.

That's when I knew I had fixed it.

You're not getting paid to fix it. Hell, I didn't get paid for breaking it.

Our hosting provider had an "emergency" in one of their data centers.

That's all I know for now.

Actually I was chuckling wondering how many ATSers were looking out the window for the black vans...

ATS was down for 10 minutes?

With my super-ass slow friggin internet provider, that's how long the average page takes to load up.

Guess that's why I missed the whole crisis.

]The smoke alarms went off for a brief time in our data center, but there was no fire in the building. All systems were properly shut down prior to turning off the power to the building. As of right now, we are still estimating a one to two hour downtime as we begin to start all the servers back up in phases. We will continue to update as we get more details.

In the most recent posts on Twitter at around 5:30 pm ET, GigeNET said the fire department made it turn off electricity after smoke was detected in the data center. It is unclear where in the data center, or in which GigeNET facility the smoke was detected.

Seems kind of strange to me. If the FD mandated electricity off, I don't think they would have time for proper systems shutdowns.

At least you were on the "A" list for coming back up.

ETA:

UPDATE 7 pm ET: The issue is only affecting GigeNET’s Chicago data center.

It was Mox and Fulder and the 'Smoking man's' fault. Say no more!
