SOOOoooo many to think of..

Like someone else mentioned, Dragonriders of Pern, The Mallorean/Belgariad, The Magician (The whole Midkemia books would actaully make a great series imo), Rendevous with Rama (That would be Awesome..).

Also, any books by Jim Marrs....
oh, wait, they actually happened.. my bad...

Cheers.

Dragonriders of Pern is a classic! But learning new terms/language gave me a headache when reading the book.

The Eye of Eurydice

By Ryan M. Talbot

This would be a great book to movie IMO. Y'all have to read it - its on Amazon, with a sneak peek preview. Funny as heck.... The author is an 'open' Satanist...so the story line might seem odd to most.

Chuck

Another might be When Worlds Collide & After Worlds Collide... I know they did the first one, but it was weak as heck IMO. Didn't give justice to the book.

A Good and Happy Child by Justin Evans- which movie rights were bought up about as soon as the book was released. But that was several years ago, so I don't know what they are waiting on..... Also, The Warlord Chronicles and The Saxon Stories by Bernard Cornwall.

Going with your Sherlock Holmes theme, I would love to see "The Sign of Four" made into a movie, but I would want it to stay absolutely true to the book. I imagine it being made Tim Burton-esque; not with his quirky undertones so much, but more like his darker-toned serious stuff, like his Batman movies (namely the first Batman he made).

Jude Law would still make a good Watson, but (nothing at all against Robert Downey, Jr.), I would like to someone who actually looks like Sherlock play the lead role. And they would have to be able to pull of Sherlock's trademark "weirdness" like in the books. Downey does good, but he puts too much of a comedic spin on it.
