What I am finding disturbing about this IPAB board, is that I am unable to find anyone yet whom has been appointed to it!!!
All kinds of how and who will appoint, but NOTHING on this boards actual members.......
If any ATS members can provide this, it would be appreciated. I need to have the names before I can check into who they actually are......
IPAB takes the Medicare decision-making process away from doctors and away from Americans’ elected representatives in Congress and gives it to an unelected, unrepresentative and unaccountable advisory board. This panel is flawed and unethical–but it has total authority to make decisions regarding Medicare funding, how to implement spending cuts within the Medicare program, and how to allocate medical services.
Further, IPAB jeopardizes the quality of medical treatments and services for Medicare beneficiaries: proponents of IPAB argue that the program will improve care by reducing costs, but in reality, by advising such reduced spending per capita, IPAB can actually result in the denial of certain medical treatments, limiting services for seniors and Americans with disabilities.
Indeed, in removing doctors and elected officials from the decision-making process and replacing them with an unelected, unaccountable panel, IPAB is a threat to all Americans on Medicare.

Insurance companies have been doing this for years and no one have complained about it. They decide which treatments they will pay for and when to cancel a policy.
Can you say that with a straight face???????
I have heard of MANY horror stories of people complaining about how their insurance companies have treated them!!
Where ya been?
I will send you a shovel to dig your head out of the sand!

Sadly, most people are sheep, so Obama says it's about insurance companies and the uninsured and some people will blindly follow.
It's about slowing down the increase in life expectancy for the elderly and disabled. Instead of restructuring Medicare, they have decided the program is more important than the lives of the elderly and disabled.

If you don't understand the difference between a private company that an individual can fire and go elsewhere for service and a government you have no say over, you are truly ignorant and probably shouldn't be posting on the subject.
"We are facing a healthcare crisis in this country because private insurers are driving up costs with unnecessary overhead, bloated executive salaries and an unquenchable quest for profits - all at the expense of American consumers," said Sidney Wolfe, MD, director of Public Citizen's health research group. "Massachusetts' failed attempt at reform is little more than a repeat of experiments that haven't worked in other states. To repeat that model on a national scale would be nothing short of Einstein's definition of insanity."
Today, 90 percent of Massachusetts doctors believe quality of care has improved since the reform, which two-thirds of state residents say they support.
"Right now, I think the people made out the best," Gottlieb said. "First, we have people covered. Second, we've started to see a real reduction in the rate of increase in health care costs in this market relative to the rest of the country."
"The Rasmussen Reports poll of 500 likely Massachusetts voters, taken in April, also found only 10 percent said the quality of health care is getting better under the reform law rules here."

*Professor says doctors use 'death pathway' to euthenasia of the elderly
* Around 29 per cent of patients that die in hospital are on controversial 'care pathway'
Sick children are being placed on a controversial end-of-life “pathway” previously only thought to have been used for elderly and terminally-ill adult patients.
Hospitals are being paid millions of pounds to reach targets for the number of patients put on a controversial pathway for the withdrawal of life-saving treatment, according to data based on Freedom of Information requests.
“Under Socialism, you would not be allowed to be poor. You would be forcibly fed, clothed, lodged, taught, and employed whether you liked it or not. If it were discovered that you had not character and industry enough to be worth all this trouble, you might possibly be executed in a kindly manner; but whilst you were permitted to live, you would have to live well.”
George Bernard Shaw: The Intelligent Woman’s Guide to Socialism and Capitalism, 1928, pg. 470)
USE OF GAS CHAMBERS
“We should find ourselves committed to killing a great many people whom we now leave living, and to leave living a great many people whom we at present kill. We should have to get rid of all ideas about capital punishment … A part of eugenic politics would finally land us in an extensive use of the lethal chamber. A great many people would have to be put out of existence simply because it wastes other people’s time to look after them.”

KILLING THOSE “UNFIT TO LIVE”
“The moment we face it frankly we are driven to the conclusion that the community has a right to put a price on the right to live in it … If people are fit to live, let them live under decent human conditions. If they are not fit to live, kill them in a decent human way. Is it any wonder that some of us are driven to prescribe the lethal chamber as the solution for the hard cases which are at present made the excuse for dragging all the other cases down to their level, and the only solution that will create a sense of full social responsibility in modern populations?”

and Co., 1934), p. 296.
Socialism's one-time interest in eugenics is dismissed as an accident of history. But the truth is far more unpalatable
In the first of a three-part series to mark disability history month, Victoria Brignell looks back at the way the UK and USA have treated disabled people and uncovers a history that both countries would prefer to forget.
A century ago many leading leftists subscribed to the vile pseudo-science of eugenics, writes Dennis Sewell, and the influence of that thinking can still be seen today
...For the Fabians, eugenics was not merely some eccentric hobby or sideline, but central to their social thinking. Beatrice Webb regarded eugenics as ‘the most important question’ of all, while her husband revealed the statist and dirigiste character of the movement with his declaration that ‘no eugenicist can be a laissez faire individualist… he must interfere, interfere, interfere!’
....Even for George Bernard Shaw, ‘the only fundamental and possible Socialism’ was ‘the socialisation of the selective breeding of Man’
....Another Fabian eugenicist, the writer H.G. Wells, vented his frustration and indignation in a direct address to the working class. ‘We cannot go on giving you health, freedom, enlargement, limitless wealth, if all our gifts to you are to be swamped by an indiscriminate torrent of progeny,’ he complained, ‘…and we cannot make the social life and the world-peace we are determined to make, with the ill-bred, ill-trained swarms of inferior citizens that you inflict upon us.’ It was as if — as in the Brechtian joke — the Fabian left had lost confidence in the people and had determined to dissolve the people and appoint a new one....

At least you were free to seek other open market options. Not so now, in a few years Obamacare will collapse upon itself and the only solution will be a government bail out single payer system. This is the long view plan.
